About The Position

Key financial leader with primary responsibility for month end and year end close as well as quarterly and annual forecasting. In addition, they negotiate and handle activities of the business unit’s finance department and aid in formulating and administering organizational financial policies and procedures. This fully remote role provides financial leadership for the Oklahoma Complete Health plan and offers the opportunity to drive improvements and bring new ideas to a growing organization. Candidates should have healthcare finance experience, including cost trend analysis, and proven management experience with responsibility for hiring, training, assigning work, and managing employee performance. Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, Power BI, and Excel queries, are required. An MBA and/or CPA is preferred. The preferred work schedule is aligned to the Central Time Zone.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of accounting, financial analysis or finance related experience.
  • Required previous management experience, including responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of staff.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, Power BI, and Excel queries.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare finance experience, including cost trend analysis.
  • An MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting, operations, financial analysis, information systems and health care or insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor business processes and systems to assure integrity in information and systems.
  • Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial reports.
  • Review, communicate, and present strategic plans, operating budgets, and forecasts.
  • Establish targets and measures that are appropriate for the site and are directly linked to business unit and corporate objectives. Evaluate program effectiveness and ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Provide financial planning for performance variances, operating alternatives, program and investment initiatives, etc.
  • Interpret financial reports for the management team as well as identifies potential shifts in medical cost trends and works with our clinical team for cost-savings initiatives.
  • Serve as contact for the State, corporate and business unit functions regarding financial matters.
  • Monitor legislative and political developments affecting the business unit from a financial perspective.
  • Coordinate political contribution activity, interact with lobbyists, attend political fundraisers, and ensure compliance with political contribution statutes.
