About The Position

The Finance Director, Global Nutrition Inventory Management, leads the financial strategy and governance of inventory across the Nutrition business. This role is accountable for driving transparency, optimizing inventory reserves, and proactively managing risk across a complex global network of 180+ plants, 100+ co-manufacturers, and 500+ warehouses. By partnering closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Controlling, and business units, the role shifts inventory management from reactive to predictive. Leveraging advanced analytics, data visibility, and standardized practices, the Finance Director enables informed decision-making that supports growth, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, with a strong focus on inventory management, supply chain, or operational finance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in inventory reserve management, slow-moving/obsolete inventory practices, and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to lead data integration and analytics projects in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Experience with tools such as SAP/S4, Power BI, and advanced planning systems (APS).
  • Experience working in an organization with centralized services functions providing global business services or shared services activities.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple, changing and competing priorities.
  • Results and continuous improvement oriented; ability to drive initiatives and lead changes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach; willingness to roll-up sleeves and make things happen; strong follow skills through and detail oriented.
  • Proven experience in finance integration and handling complexity

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial oversight of inventory, including valuation, forecasting, reserve setting, and risk identification.
  • Establish and standardize global criteria for slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory.
  • Ensure alignment of inventory reserve methodologies with accounting and controlling policies.
  • Transition inventory management from reactive to proactive through forward-looking monitoring and risk anticipation.
  • Identify root causes of inventory losses and implement data-driven corrective actions.
  • Develop strategies to minimize write-offs, including rework, repurposing, and alternative use approaches.
  • Enhance inventory transparency through SKU- and location-level insights across the network.
  • Partner with IT to deploy advanced analytics tools (e.g., dashboards, AI/ML models) for real-time tracking and forecasting.
  • Implement “control tower” capabilities to centralize and standardize inventory performance monitoring.
  • Embed financial insights into Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to improve demand-supply balancing.
  • Support scenario planning, product lifecycle (phase-in/phase-out), and SKU rationalization efforts.
  • Drive alignment across functions to reduce complexity and improve execution discipline.
  • Monitor inventory health using KPIs such as Days of Inventory Outstanding (DIO) and reserve adequacy.
  • Proactively identify risks (e.g., aging, expiration, excess stock) and enable early intervention.
  • Strengthen reserve strategies to ensure accuracy, consistency, and financial integrity.
  • Serve as the key finance partner to Supply Chain, Controlling, and business teams globally.
  • Lead recurring reviews with senior leadership on inventory performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build organizational capability through coaching and knowledge sharing in inventory finance practices.
