About The Position

The Director, Event Strategy & Experience, owns and leads the enterprise event strategy and portfolio, prioritizing programs and ensuring events directly support corporate and business unit priorities. This leader manages a team of experienced event planners, serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives, translates business objectives into high-impact experiences, establishes strong governance and operational processes, negotiates contracts, and provides disciplined financial oversight. This role is the primary point of contact for executive events.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate events, experiential marketing, meetings, or a related field, including significant responsibility for large, complex programs.
• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale events and executive experiences, including C-suite meetings, leadership conferences, customer events, and major corporate gatherings.
• Strong financial and operational management experience, including ownership of substantial budgets, vendor and agency management, contract negotiation, risk management, and the ability to demonstrate business impact and ROI.
• Experience working in a large, complex corporate environment/Fortune 500 organization or Agency Partner
• Proven strategic and business leadership skills, with the ability to connect an event portfolio to enterprise priorities, advise senior executives, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and make sound strategic and financial decisions.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams and effective partnerships across functions such as communications, sales, legal, procurement, accounting, and executive leadership.
• Self-provided internet service must meet the following criteria: At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
• Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior executives to translate strategic priorities into compelling leadership meetings, conferences, employee experiences, customer events, and other programs.
• Lead end-to-end event execution across a complex portfolio, including strategy, concept development, planning, production, logistics, onsite execution, post-event evaluation, and continuous improvement.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of event planners by setting the vision and operating model, establishing priorities and standards, developing talent, creating accountability, and ensuring strategic and operational excellence.
• Own significant event budgets and financial performance by establishing budgets, managing forecasts and expenditures, optimizing investments, negotiating contracts, and ensuring disciplined financial management across the portfolio.
• Lead cross-functional alignment and governance by bringing together communications, business units, executive offices, legal, procurement, accounting, IT, AV, security, and other stakeholders around shared objectives, decision rights, and execution plans.
• Manage strategic agency, vendor, venue, and production partnerships by selecting and overseeing external partners, negotiating contracts, and holding agencies and suppliers accountable for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Establish performance measurement, analytics, and continuous improvement practices to evaluate event effectiveness, business impact, and return on investment.
• Ensure exceptional, on-brand, and risk-managed experiences by identifying potential risks and implementing contingency plans to address issues that may arise.
