About The Position

Stream is seeking a Director, Event Marketing to own the strategy and delivery of their full event portfolio in the US. This role is crucial for building the brand, deepening customer relationships, and generating pipeline. The event portfolio includes field events, a flagship US conference, third-party conferences, and sponsorships, aiming for an event cadence of roughly one every other week. This is a build role where the individual will set the standard for all event experiences. The position requires a blend of creativity and commercial acumen, focusing on making events stand out and ensuring they deliver measurable results. The Director will report to the VP of Marketing and collaborate closely with marketing and sales teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in event or experiential marketing, with time spent at a strategic, function-owning level.
  • People leadership experience, including managing and developing direct reports.
  • A strong portfolio of event work.
  • In-house experience at a technology company.
  • A working understanding of demand generation and B2B sales cycles.
  • A track record of owning flagship events or conferences end to end, from concept through on-site delivery.
  • Strong field and third-party event experience, including partner and co-branded activations.
  • Commercial acumen: ability to tie events to pipeline, ABM, and revenue, and communicate impact to leadership.
  • Fluency in content and design to partner well and set a creative bar.
  • Steady hand with agencies, vendors, and sponsors.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker who stays close enough to execution to catch what matters.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, competing priorities, and high-visibility moments.
  • An AI-forward, tech-savvy approach to the work.
  • Fluency in tools like HubSpot and modern event platforms.
  • Willingness to travel roughly 30%.

Responsibilities

  • Own the events strategy for the US, including the calendar, priorities, investment case, and metrics.
  • Determine Stream's presence at owned, third-party, and partner events.
  • Define and maintain a 'premium' standard for all event experiences.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of the flagship conference, from vision to on-site delivery.
  • Ideate and launch new event series and formats to differentiate Stream.
  • Design distinctive, customer-first experiences, shaping agendas and memorable moments.
  • Design a field event motion that functions as connected campaigns with ongoing momentum.
  • Build co-branded activations with partners to generate pipeline and brand lift.
  • Ensure events have an experiential focus with details that make attendees feel unique.
  • Partner with sales, partnerships, and ABM to align events with account priorities and pipeline goals.
  • Define and operationalize success metrics for pipeline contribution, engagement, and ROI, with clean tracking for event-sourced opportunities.
  • Own the promotional plan for each event, including registration, lifecycle marketing, paid promotion, and internal enablement.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the events team, including direct management of the US field event manager.
  • Partner across marketing and sales, with enough fluency in content and design to direct creative work.
  • Manage budgets, vendors, sponsors, and agency relationships to maximize ROI.
  • Build processes and rigor to enable event scaling as the US business grows.
