About The Position

The Director, Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering & Operations leads Travere’s modern workplace and core infrastructure function. The role is accountable for the architecture, engineering, modernization, and reliable operation of Microsoft 365, identity and access management, endpoint services, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, enterprise networking, compute, storage, backup and recovery and monitoring. This is a player-coach role that leads a small team of engineers and managed service partners while remaining directly involved in architecture, configuration, automation, implementation, and advanced troubleshooting. During the initial development of the function, approximately 60 percent of the role is expected to be hands-on technical leadership and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure, platform engineering, AWS and Microsoft cloud platforms, modern workplace technologies, and technology operations.
  • 7+ years leading technical teams and enterprise platform capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success as a hands-on technical leader with responsibility for people, vendors, budgets, roadmaps, and operational outcomes.
  • Deep expertise in AWS web services infrastructure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Graph.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure and hybrid cloud architecture, enterprise networking, identity, endpoint engineering, virtualization, storage, backup, recovery, business continuity, scripting, automation, Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and monitoring.
  • Experience with Zero Trust, conditional access, identity governance, privileged access, endpoint security, secure cloud configuration, regulated-system controls, IT service management, incident and problem management, change management, service levels, and managed service performance.
  • Strong communication, coaching, stakeholder partnership, vendor management, negotiation, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with sound judgment about when to build internal capability, use managed services, automate work, or engage external specialists.

Nice To Haves

  • Biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, or other regulated-industry experience is strongly preferred; experience supporting GxP environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute enterprise roadmaps, architecture standards, and lifecycle plans for modern workplace technologies, and AWS Cloud infrastructure capabilities and Microsoft 365, identity, endpoints, cloud and hybrid infrastructure, networking, compute, storage, backup and recovery, and monitoring.
  • Personally design, configure, automate, implement, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure and workplace solutions; lead high-risk technical decisions, major changes, and escalations using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Infrastructure as Code, and other appropriate tools.
  • Modernize and operate platforms to improve reliability, security, scalability, performance, supportability, automation, cost efficiency, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience.
  • Establish engineering, configuration, documentation, testing, monitoring, identity, endpoint, Zero Trust, information protection, and lifecycle standards in partnership with Cyber Security, Risk, and Quality.
  • Lead and develop infrastructure engineers and oversee service desk operations, managed service providers, and vendors with clear ownership, service levels, performance measures, escalation paths, and accountability for outcomes.
  • Partner with application, data, AI, security, quality, and business teams to translate requirements into secure, scalable, supportable platforms and ensure effective implementation and operational transition.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, Microsoft licensing, cloud consumption, contracts, vendor relationships, capacity, technical debt, and investment priorities; communicate roadmaps, service performance, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to technical and executive audiences.
