About The Position

The Director, Enterprise Application Support has responsibility for all Foundation enterprise applications and intelligence including maintenance, availability, optimization, and user adoption. This Director collaborates with Foundation business entities and the Information & Enterprise Risk (I&ER) team cross-departmentally to capture user needs and deliver application and intelligence solutions aligned with business objectives and goals. This role also manages vendor relationships, ensures applications meet business requirements, participates in the rationalization and feasibility of the application portfolio, develops application training, maintains application performance, and resolves critical issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related discipline with 5-7 years of related experience.
  • Practical knowledge of ETL tools and application integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop processes and programs such as change control and optimization standards.
  • Experience leading teams, managing deadlines, and developing roadmaps.
  • Experience with continuous process improvement.
  • Capacity to operate efficiently in dynamic environments and adapt to evolving priorities and requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and fostering a culture of innovation and shared knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication skills, and leadership skills with strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience using and supporting multiple applications including the Blackbaud product suite, UKG, Teams, SharePoint, etc. is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee application operations ensuring timely resolution of issues, manage application workload, and define the annual roadmap for system maintenance.
  • Develop strategies to improve application efficiency and improve reliability and availability.
  • Define and manage change control processes, application upgrades, security patches, and enhancements while collaborating with all members of I&ER.
  • Determine application longevity in the overall portfolio, optimize uptime and performance, and maintain quality.
  • Develop training plans for new functionality proactively using videos, quick tips, and other relevant means to ensure adoption.
  • Prepare documentation aligning new and/or existing applications, processes, workflows, and best practices to support sustainability.
  • Implement and uphold organizational and regulatory standards including privacy, security, and compliance as appropriate.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and methodologies in the application and intelligence domains while proactively integrating enhancements when beneficial.
  • Coordinate the upgrade and/or sunset of legacy applications as needed to maintain security and business continuity.
