As we unify our portfolio—including Ecolane, FASTER, Passio, TripShot, ByteCurve, and Vestige—into a single intelligent TransitOS platform, we’re looking for an exceptional Director of Engineering, TransitOS to lead the technical architecture behind one of the industry’s most ambitious platform convergence initiatives. This is a rare opportunity to define the architecture that will power the future of transit technology. This isn’t another engineering management role. This is a hands-on architecture leadership position responsible for designing the technical foundation that connects six industry-leading platforms into one unified ecosystem. You’ll partner with Product, Engineering, Executive Leadership, and our largest customers to build scalable architecture that reduces complexity, accelerates delivery, and enables AI-driven innovation across the TransitOS platform. Requirements

8+ years of Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, or senior technical leadership experience.
3+ years working within transit, mobility, transportation technology, or closely related industries.
Deep experience with: Enterprise Solution Architecture, API Design, Data Modeling, System Integration, Cloud-based SaaS platforms, Non-functional requirements including security, scalability, performance, and availability
Experience governing architecture across multiple engineering teams.
Strong understanding of Agile development and PI Planning.
Exceptional communication skills with both technical and business audiences.

Experience with: Canonical data models, Enterprise platform modernization, AI-enabled software delivery, Public sector technology, Transit operations, Demand Response, Fixed Route, ADA, NEMT, Scheduling & Dispatch systems

Responsibilities

Lead the technical architecture for TransitOS platform convergence.
Design scalable solution architectures, integration patterns, APIs, and enterprise data models.
Define the canonical TransitOS schema serving as the foundation across multiple product lines.
Establish architecture standards and governance across engineering teams.
Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions and technical tradeoffs.
Architect solutions spanning Fixed Route, Demand Response, Paratransit, On-Demand Transit, and NEMT.
Ensure consistent integration strategies across Ecolane, FASTER, Passio, TripShot, ByteCurve, and Vestige.
Identify architectural risks before development begins.
Reduce technical debt and eliminate costly rework.
Translate architecture into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Partner closely with Product Managers and Product Owners throughout PI Planning.
Facilitate backlog refinement and technical grooming sessions.
Keep architecture and implementation tightly aligned from concept through delivery.
Support development teams throughout the SDLC.
Resolve technical ambiguity quickly.
Participate in sprint planning, demos, UAT, and release readiness.
Ensure solutions meet both business objectives and architectural standards.
Present technical architecture to executive leadership and strategic clients.
Participate in customer demonstrations, RFPs, and solution discussions.
Serve as the architectural authority for strategic initiatives.
Help shape the future direction of the TransitOS platform.
