Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7 years of post-baccalaureate software engineering experience developing a P2P platform and building software solutions
  • 5 years of experience using Java or C++ programming languages to conduct code review
  • 3 years of experience managing a team of at least 3 engineers
  • 3 years of experience managing projects and release cycles, including scheduling, task assignment, resource management, and risk management
  • 3 years of experience building micro-service applications
  • 3 years of experience implementing Agile software development process
  • 2 years of experience using SQL and NoSQL databases to review schema and database performance to perform code reviews and design reviews
  • 2 years of experience using Kafka or Kinesis to review system design
  • Must live within regular commuting distance from the Blockgraph office in NYC.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading a team of engineers and spearheading the development of a massively scaled, cloud native P2P platform.
  • Oversee and contribute to projects while maintaining deep technical knowledge and providing strategic guidance and industry knowledge.
  • Manage multiple cross-functional projects and release cycles, including scheduling, task assignment, resource management and risk management.
  • Serve as a point of escalation for making technical decisions.
  • Build micro-service applications and conduct code reviews using Java and/orC++ programming languages.
  • Use SQL and NoSQL databases to review schema and database performance to perform code and design reviews.
  • Use Kafka or Kinesis to review system design.
  • Partner with product management and other development teams to build world class software solutions.
  • Make innovation recommendations and/or feature and functionality improvements based on knowledge of client use cases and customer feedback.
  • Implement agile software development process.
  • Contribute to Blockgraph's long-term strategy of peer to peer computing and decentralization.
  • Drive optimization, testing, and tooling to improve the performance, availability, and scalability of the platform.
  • Manage a team of engineers and mentor junior team members.
