The Director, Electrophysiology (EP) Training Program at UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Training Program. This role is responsible for program administration, curriculum development, accreditation compliance, and student success, including recruitment and workforce placement. UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School’s Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Training Program delivers comprehensive education and hands-on training in Cardiac Rhythm Management, Electrophysiology, and Structural Heart Disease. The program prepares individuals for clinical and technical specialist roles within the cardiac medical device industry and healthcare settings, while building the competencies required for certification and leadership in the electrophysiology field. The Director partners with device manufacturers and clinical, academic, and hospital stakeholders to ensure high-quality, industry-aligned training and to advance program visibility and responsiveness to workforce needs. This role also includes outreach and engagement activities, including local travel to student career fairs and recruitment events. Additionally, the Director oversees budgeting, internal controls, and personnel management to support program growth, effectiveness, and long-term sustainability.
