About The Position

DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a(n) Director, Education Systems; this Hybrid position will be in Raynham, MA (USA). Alternate Hybrid locations may be considered at Raritan, NJ (USA), West Chester, PA (USA), Warsaw, IN (USA), or Palm Beach Gardens, FL (USA). Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. Job Overview: The Director, Education Systems is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of global education and learning technology platforms supporting DePuy Synthes and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization. This role ensures that education systems effectively enable professional education, professional relations/operations, commercial education and readiness, and internal capability development while meeting compliance, data integrity, and scalability requirements. The role has significant impact on how education is delivered globally, enabling consistent, high‑quality professional and commercial learning experiences for healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders, as well as how we manage our relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (e.g. Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field).
  • 10-12 years of experience leading enterprise education, learning management, or digital learning systems in a global commercial organization.
  • Proven people‑leadership experience, including managing managers and senior professionals.
  • Strong background in system strategy, governance, and cross‑functional stakeholder management and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with IT and external vendors to deliver complex, integrated platforms.
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with attention to compliance, data privacy, and quality standards.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and change‑management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred (e.g., MBA, Education Technology, or related discipline).
  • Experience in medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting professional education and/or commercial learning programs at scale.
  • Familiarity with global learning analytics, reporting, and education technology innovation and tech stacks
  • Experience leading global or regional transformations of learning platforms.
  • Experience with CRM technologies, including Salesforce.com to manage relationships and actions with key opinion leaders
  • Experience with education operations and event planning systems to ensure successful experiences for our customers and professionals.
  • English required; additional languages preferred.
  • SFDC, Education technology or learning systems certifications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for global education systems, including learning management and related digital experience and learning platforms and professional relations/operations, ensuring alignment with business, commercial, and professional operational needs.
  • Define and execute the long‑term roadmap for education systems, balancing innovation, user experience, scalability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cross‑functional collaboration with IT, Professional Education, Commercial, Compliance, Privacy, Legal, and Quality partners to ensure system effectiveness and adherence to internal and external standards.
  • Oversee vendor relationships, system integrations, and platform performance, including contract management, service levels, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish governance, policies, and best practices for education systems, education digital content strategy and management, data management, and reporting to ensure consistency and data integrity across regions.
  • Drive analytics and insights from education systems to inform leadership decisions and optimize education effectiveness and learner engagement.
  • Lead, develop, and coach a team of managers and senior professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, resource planning, and prioritization of initiatives to ensure efficient and effective delivery of education systems capabilities.
  • Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize commercial platforms, enhancing customer engagement, pricing and revenue optimization, and data‑driven decision‑making while driving scalable and compliant commercial execution across sales, marketing, and customer operations.
