About The Position

This is an on-site, full-time position for a Director of E-Commerce based in Los Angeles, CA. The Director of E-Commerce is responsible for overseeing the online retail strategy, optimizing the user experience, analyzing e-commerce performance, and leading efforts to drive sales growth. The role includes developing e-business solutions, executing data-driven marketing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives. The Director of E-Commerce is responsible for the day-to-day management of COTTONCITIZEN.COM, working directly with the Chief Marketing Officer and relevant teams to drive sales to our DTC channels. This person will focus on strategic planning for the DTC business, overseeing UX/Development, merchandising and analytics. This position will be instrumental in building the necessary DTC team.

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in E-Commerce and E-business, with experience in online retail strategies and platforms
  • 5+ years experience in ecom and digital marketing
  • Proven track record in Sales and revenue generation
  • Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret data, optimize performance, and drive informed decisions
  • Team Management experience with the ability to lead and mentor a high-performing team
  • Comprehensive understanding of digital marketing trends and tools
  • Proficiency with e-commerce software and platforms including Shopify Plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management abilities
  • Eager to be part of a small team dedicated to growth

Responsibilities

  • Oversee UX, including site navigation and innovation
  • Launch new apps / updates and technologies to improve site relevancy
  • Oversee merchandising of site and new product uploads
  • Responsible for continuous site auditing to improve/fix errors or broken links
  • Optimize website experience through managing an off-site developer’s ongoing project development
  • Identify areas of improvement and site innovation, as well as oversee tactical execution
  • Manage day-to-day ops of site platform including inventory replenishment analysis, identifying new business opportunities, analyzing web metrics to improve overall performance
  • Oversee customer service strategy in coordination with marketing team
  • Identify upsell opportunities
  • Manage overall DTC strategies to achieve/exceed sales goals
  • Develop and run weekly and monthly KPI reports
  • Collaborate with marketing to understand full product launch calendar and all support initiatives around launches
  • Collaborate with marketing to manage growth and maintenance of customer database, including email segmentation and nurturing VIP client relationships
  • Act as a leader and mentor to others on the team
  • Communicate ongoing department goals and objectives
