The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto is seeking applicants for the position of Director, Division of Nephrology. Applicants must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment as a Nephrologist at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The term of appointment is five years, renewable once following a successful review. An aspirational leader is sought to drive change and advance the academic enterprise of the Division of Nephrology over the next five years. The ideal candidate will be an internationally respected scholar and visionary leader with sophisticated interpersonal skills. They will meaningfully engage the academic leadership of the University and the affiliated teaching hospitals to build strong cross-department and cross-discipline collaboration, bridge diverse groups, strengthen capacity in research across disciplines, and provide strong mentorship to trainees and faculty at all stages of career. The individual will establish an overarching vision and strategic direction for the Division. The Director reports directly to the Chair of Medicine. The Division of Nephrology is an accomplished community of academic nephrologists, with over 40 full-time members at multiple hospitals. The division consists of diverse subspecialties including home and hemodialysis, kidney/kidney-pancreas transplantation, glomerular disease, hereditary kidney disease, geriatric and palliative renal medicine, kidney, and onco-nephrology. With this breadth of expertise, we are proud to be able to provide outstanding clinical care, conduct groundbreaking research, and offer numerous training opportunities in nephrology.
