The Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) is responsible for the administration of the animal care program for the Faculty of Medicine. Its mission is to provide excellent care built on professional dedication to animal welfare, to support the Faculty’s research endeavour by serving as an important resource of in-vivo research expertise and best practices, and to provide animal use training and research support services. As Director, DCM you will lead the operations of our local animal care program with a dual commitment to uncompromising animal welfare and research excellence. Collaborating closely with the University Veterinarian and DCM veterinary staff, you will ensure that all animals involved in research and teaching are cared for in full compliance with University standards, the Ontario Animals for Research Act, and the guidelines of the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC). Driven by strong financial and people leadership, you will optimize fiscal and human resources to ensure research teams are fully equipped with the tools, equipment, and expert in-vivo guidance required to drive world-class science.
