As Amgen continues to invest in discovery research and early pipeline development, the Disease Area Strategy Lead (DASL) function plays a critical role in shaping where we invest and how scientific innovation is translated into differentiated medicines with meaningful value for patients. The Director, Disease Area Strategy Lead – General Medicine will help shape the future of Amgen’s General Medicine portfolio by integrating scientific, clinical, patient, competitive and commercial perspectives into therapeutic area, portfolio and early asset decisions. The role operates at the intersection of R&D, commercial, and therapeutic area strategy. Working closely with the Executive Director DASL and cross-functional leaders, the Director will lead the ongoing development and evolution of the General Medicine therapeutic area strategy and translate strategic priorities into implications for disease areas, franchises, pipeline investments and individual programs. The Director will also serve as the Commercial strategic lead for early pipeline projects and programs from discovery through early development. Success in this role requires strong strategic judgment, scientific curiosity and commercial acumen, combined with the ability to build trusted cross-functional partnerships and drive complex questions toward clear recommendations and decisions.
