About The Position

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking an experienced Director of Delivery to drive the execution of the Digital Technology program. This role is responsible for delivering multiple high-impact initiatives spanning multiple digital journeys and complex loyalty partnership ecosystems - enhancing client value and positioning RBC as a best-in-class in Loyalty and Digital technology. The successful candidate will drive consistent, predictable delivery across multiple teams (both internal and external), while establishing organizational delivery excellence, managing complex financial and technical risks, and fostering innovation through emerging technologies like AI.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of program/portfolio delivery or project management experience
  • 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing delivery teams and cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong experience with Agile methodologies and hybrid delivery models
  • Excellent strategic planning, risk management, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical risk management and mitigation

  • Experience in financial services or another highly regulated enterprise environment.
  • Experience standing up internal product portfolios with clear adoption, lifecycle, and support models.
  • Experience with AI systems development lifecycle delivery models

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of Scrum Masters and Delivery leads, fostering a high-performing delivery culture
  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders across the Business to align on priorities and strategic goals
  • Lead delivery for an agile program at scale composed of multiple squads, collaborating with internal RBC teams for integrated features/solutions, and managing third party vendors to deliver at scale
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, project plans, schedules, and budgets for tracking key milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery
  • Implement agile methodologies and best practices to optimize project delivery and adapt to changing business needs
  • Maintain and continuously improve the delivery operating model, defining value stream mapping, and application of AI to optimize, improve, and accelerate delivery at scale
  • Mentor teams on Agile principles, practices, and frameworks to ensure continuous delivery and iterative improvement
  • Implement best practices for backlog grooming, sprint planning, and delivery tracking to ensure alignment with program objectives
