About The Position

Monash University is seeking an accomplished and visionary fundraising leader to shape the next era of major giving. As the Director, Development – Major Gifts, you will play a pivotal, high-profile role in leading a high-performing team to secure transformational philanthropic support. Reporting to the Senior Director, Integrated Philanthropy, you will oversee key fundraising programs and champion major gift strategies ($100,000 to $5M+). You will inspire, coach, and manage a team of fundraisers, while also personally managing a portfolio of high-value prospects and serving as a strategic advisor to Deans and senior leadership. This role requires exceptional relationship management and consulting skills, strategic capability to identify high-impact funding opportunities, and the ability to design and execute key initiatives for Monash’s next comprehensive campaign. The ideal candidate excels at leading, coaching, and empowering high-performing teams with a passion for developing talent and building a collaborative culture.
