About The Position

The Design Director is responsible for leading the visual execution of the Cotiviti brand across all channels and touchpoints. This role combines exceptional design expertise with strong creative leadership to develop compelling, strategically driven creative that elevates the brand, strengthens market differentiation, and supports business objectives. Working closely with Brand Strategy, Digital Experience, Product Marketing, Communications, Sales, and executive stakeholders, the Senior Art Director will concept, design, and art direct high-impact creative across digital, print, events, executive communications, campaigns, sales enablement, and corporate initiatives. This position requires an experienced creative leader who can balance conceptual thinking with flawless execution, while mentoring designers, maintaining brand consistency, and continuously raising the quality of creative output across the organization.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in graphic design, brand design, or art direction, including experience leading enterprise creative initiatives
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing design teams while fostering a collaborative, feedback-driven creative culture.
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, visual storytelling, typography, digital design, and integrated campaign development
  • Proven ability to translate business strategy into compelling creative solutions
  • Experience mentoring designers and elevating creative quality across teams
  • Strong understanding of branding, visual identity systems, marketing communications, and user-centered design principles
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Microsoft PowerPoint, and other industry-standard creative tools
  • Comfortable presenting creative work and collaborating directly with executive leadership and senior stakeholders
  • Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Deep understanding of brand systems, design thinking, and visual communication principles
  • Exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • High level of emotional intelligence, judgment, and creative leadership maturity
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in ambiguous situations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative development and visual execution of enterprise marketing, brand, and communications initiatives
  • Develop innovative creative concepts that communicate complex healthcare and technology solutions in clear, engaging, and differentiated ways
  • Establish and maintain a high standard of creative excellence across all deliverables
  • Provide creative direction and constructive feedback to team members
  • Ensure all creative work reflects Cotiviti's brand standards, visual identity, and strategic positioning
  • Evolve and steward Cotiviti's visual identity across internal and external touchpoints
  • Translate enterprise messaging into compelling visual storytelling
  • Develop creative systems, templates, and design standards that enable consistency and scalability
  • Partner with Brand Strategy, Communications and Product Marketing to bring positioning, messaging, and campaigns to life through design
  • Design and art direct campaigns spanning digital, web, social, events, executive communications, sales enablement, presentations, and thought leadership
  • Collaborate with copywriters, content strategists, and digital teams to create integrated creative solutions
  • Ensure creative aligns with business objectives while delivering engaging user experiences
  • Partner directly with executive leadership to develop presentations, strategic communications, and high-profile initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Sales, Communications, HR, and other business partners
  • Present creative concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback while maintaining creative integrity
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the design team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, continuous learning, and design excellence.
  • Provide creative direction, coaching, and constructive feedback to designers, helping elevate both individual performance and the overall quality of work.
  • Establish and reinforce best practices, design standards, and creative processes that enable consistency and scalability.
  • Conduct design reviews and critiques, ensuring all work meets Cotiviti's brand standards and creative expectations.
  • Partner with the Senior Director, Creative on talent development, performance management, succession planning, and team growth.
  • May assume direct management responsibility for designers and other creative team members as the organization evolves.
  • Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
  • Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.
