The Director, Demand & Supply Planning will report to the Senior Director, Head of Planning and will be responsible for executing integrated demand, supply, inventory, and planning processes across Kardigan’s outsourced manufacturing and clinical supply network. This role requires collaboration with various internal teams (Technical Operations, CMC, Clinical Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Finance, Procurement, Program Management, External Manufacturing, Clinical Supply Chain) and external partners. The ideal candidate will bring structure to ambiguity, connect strategy to execution, and leverage data for decision-making in a fast-paced clinical development environment.

Requirements

  • 10–12+ years for Director level in supply chain planning, demand planning, supply planning, clinical supply, manufacturing planning, or related operations roles.
  • Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or another regulated life sciences environment.
  • Strong understanding of clinical-stage supply chains, outsourced manufacturing networks, CDMO/CMO coordination, and planning across drug substance, drug product, packaging, labeling, testing, release, and distribution.
  • Ability to build forecasts, supply plans, inventory scenarios, planning dashboards, and data-driven recommendations that support cross-functional decisions.
  • Clear communicator who can influence without direct authority and partner effectively with technical, operational, financial, clinical, and executive stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a clinical-stage, pre-commercial, launch-stage, or rapidly scaling biotech/pharma organization.
  • Experience supporting S&OP, Integrated Business Planning, long-range planning, or supply governance processes.
  • Experience with ERP, planning, inventory visibility, IRT, dashboarding, or analytics tools.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment where priorities evolve and processes are still being built.
  • Advanced degree, MBA, or APICS/ASCM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Build demand plans that translate clinical enrollment assumptions, protocol requirements, regional plans, and future launch expectations into practical forecasts.
  • Create integrated supply plans across drug substance, drug product, packaging, labeling, testing, release, distribution, and clinical supply activities.
  • Help ensure patients and clinical sites have the supply they need by balancing service, continuity, shelf life, and inventory investment.
  • Track inventory health, supply plan performance, forecast accuracy, capacity constraints, and emerging risks before they become issues.
  • Partner with External Manufacturing and Technical Operations to align CDMO execution activities with approved demand and supply plans.
  • Lead scenario planning for demand changes, manufacturing delays, batch outcomes, inventory needs, capacity availability, and launch readiness.
  • Turn complex planning data into clear recommendations, dashboards, and decision points for cross-functional planning and governance forums.
  • Improve how planning gets done by strengthening templates, assumptions, reporting cadences, data quality, and planning tools.
