Director, Data Science - AI Evidence Extraction

Johnson & Johnson•Titusville, NJ

About The Position

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting a Director, Data Science – AI Evidence Extraction to join its Research and Development Data, Data Science, and AI (DDSAI) team. The position may be based at one of the company’s US sites in Raritan or Titusville, New Jersey; Cambridge, Massachusetts; or Spring House, Pennsylvania. Travel may be required as needed. The Director will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-enabled capabilities, including agentic workflows, for scientific evidence extraction, curation, and quantitative synthesis supporting Neuroscience clinical development. Working with clinical, statistical, regulatory, scientific, data, legal, and technology teams, the role translates priority evidence needs into scalable tools and reusable data assets that improve how scientific literature and other sources are identified, structured, evaluated, and analyzed. This hands-on technical leadership role sets technical direction, guides multidisciplinary delivery, and builds and validates robust evidence workflows. It establishes fit-for-purpose data models, provenance and quality standards, evaluation and human-review practices, and scientifically rigorous analytical approaches, while ensuring alignment with enterprise platforms, responsible AI expectations, and data-use requirements. The Director communicates uncertainty and tradeoffs, drives adoption, and delivers measurable value for clinical development decisions. The role will develop a curated, provenance-bearing evidence asset intended to make subsequent analyses faster, less costly, and more reliable. Success includes enabling Neuroscience analysts to begin meta-analyses by querying the evidence store, allowing reviewers to trace pooled values to cited sources, and creating a capability that other therapeutic areas may adopt.
