About The Position

PLTFRM is seeking a Director of Data Science and Measurement to lead how its digital team measures, explains, and improves brand performance across retail and commerce channels, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, TikTok Shop, Costco, Sam’s Club, Best Buy, and direct-to-consumer. The role turns fragmented retailer and platform data into reliable insights about sell-through, media effectiveness, assortment, content, and opportunities for improvement. It works directly with brand leadership, media and content teams, data engineering, and clients. The Director owns KPI definitions, calculation methodologies, data quality standards, the metric dictionary, and end-to-end digital performance measurement. This includes creating a consistent source of truth across retailer data and establishing measurement and reporting for sales, share, media, content, and availability. The role develops closed-loop approaches that connect retail media and social spending to sell-through and incremental sales, replacing reliance on last-click and platform-reported ROAS with defensible attribution and structured testing. The role leads analytical methods and tools for incrementality, geographic holdouts, matched-market analysis, dayparting and flighting, content quality, regression and causal impact, share-of-search and share-of-shelf, promotional lift and cannibalization, and new-to-brand and repeat-purchase analysis. It translates category and portfolio trends into insights for quarterly business reviews, joint business planning, and brand and retailer discussions, including analysis of velocity, assortment, pricing, promotions, content, share of shelf, and forecast risk. The Director partners with data engineering on data feeds, granularity, cadence, and business logic; manages and develops analysts and senior analysts; establishes hiring plans and raises standards for analytical rigor, writing, and client storytelling; and supports new business and renewals with analytics-led narratives. The role also identifies opportunities to turn analytical findings into productized capabilities.
