Reporting to the VP Technology, the incumbent will be accountable to ensure that the organization’s data and AI investments deliver measurable business value while remaining trusted, governed, and compliant. This role serves as the single executive owner of enterprise data and AI as strategic assets, balancing innovation, risk management, regulatory compliance, and value realization. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data, analytics, AI, and technology leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with MLOps / ModelOps concepts
  • Proven experience owning enterprise-wide data or analytics strategy.
  • Strong knowledge in Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, data engineering development and toolsets.
  • Strong skillset in data governance
  • Experience operating in regulated or audit-sensitive environments.
  • Demonstrated enterprise ownership mindset with risk‑based decision‑making, capable of influencing outcomes without direct authority and clearly articulating complex, high‑impact topics to executive and board‑level stakeholders.
  • Strong academic and applied background in data science or AI, with the ability to translate complex algorithms into scalable business value; proactive problem‑solver with a deep curiosity and passion for emerging technologies.
  • Ability to optimize large‑scale AI workflows, influence senior leaders on AI risks and investment trade‑offs, and translate complex AI concepts into clear, executive‑ and board‑level guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance innovation with governance, including strong knowledge of responsible AI principles.
  • Experience in developing Technology policies and AI usage policies.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both written and verbal. The requirement of another language is required for this position as the candidate will be required to interact and communicate with clients, suppliers and colleagues throughout North America. For administrative positions permanently located in Quebec, knowledge of French is also required so that the incumbent can communicate, when necessary, with colleagues and suppliers in Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise data and AI strategy aligned to business priorities and outcomes.
  • Ensure data and AI initiatives are prioritized based on business value, not experimentation.
  • Establish clear ownership for data definitions, quality, and lineage across the enterprise.
  • Ensure executives and regulators have access to a single, trusted version of the truth
  • Define and enforce AI governance standards, including ethical, explainable, and compliant use of AI.
  • Prevent uncontrolled AI model proliferation and shadow AI usage.
  • Move AI initiatives from proof-of-concept to scalable, production-grade capabilities.
  • Lead the enterprise Data Governance Council.
  • Define enterprise policies for data access, privacy, retention, and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as the primary interface with Audit, Risk, Legal, and Compliance stakeholders.
  • Lead the development and enforcement of responsible AI practices by ensuring compliance with ethical, fairness, and regulatory standards, and by designing and maintaining policies that guide the responsible use of AI across the organization.
