About The Position

The Director of Data, Analytics & AI will build and lead the Environmental Business’s data, analytics, and AI capability. Reporting to the Vice President – IT, this high-visibility role combines enterprise strategy with hands-on delivery: establishing a trusted data foundation, improving analytics, and moving practical AI solutions into production to improve decisions across commercial, finance, operations, and supply chain. The role will assess the current environment, define the future-state strategy, establish governance, and create a scalable operating model for data and AI. The Director will coach existing contributors, evaluate platforms and partners, and help turn high-value opportunities into production-ready solutions with measurable business impact. This first-of-its-kind leadership opportunity offers significant autonomy and direct access to senior leaders across the United States and Europe, while shaping architecture, tools, governance, and the use-case portfolio. The position is part of the Environmental IT team based in Fort Collins, Colorado, with a hybrid work arrangement. The Environmental business is part of Veralto’s Water Quality segment. Veralto is described as a $5.5 billion global leader with 17,000 associates.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
10 or more years of progressive data and analytics experience, including 5 or more years leading teams or enterprise capabilities.
Proven success building or materially improving enterprise data, analytics, or AI capabilities with measurable business impact.
Hands-on experience moving AI/ML or analytics solutions beyond pilots and into production.
Strong knowledge of modern data architecture, cloud warehouses/lakehouses, ETL/ELT, APIs, BI, and the AI/ML lifecycle.
Experience with major cloud and data platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Power BI, or Tableau.
Experience integrating and harmonizing data across ERP, CRM, finance, supply chain, and other business systems.
Strong executive communication, stakeholder influence, and business-value orientation.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, scientific instrumentation, FMCG, or another product-based environment.
Experience establishing data governance, standardizing enterprise measures, and improving data quality and pipelines.
Experience evaluating data, AI, and automation investments through disciplined build-versus-buy and ROI frameworks.
Knowledge of global privacy and compliance frameworks, including GDPR and CCPA.
Experience working across multiple businesses, geographies, ERP environments, and matrixed stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

Set the Environmental Business data, analytics, and AI strategy and roadmap across Ott and Kipp & Zonen.
Assess current architecture, platforms, pipelines, reporting, and work in progress, and define a scalable future state.
Build a secure, sustainable data ecosystem connecting ERP, CRM, finance, supply chain, and service data.
Establish practical governance for data ownership, definitions, quality, access, privacy, security, and compliance.
Standardize critical measures and strengthen self-service BI, dashboards, scorecards, and decision-ready analytics.
Identify high-value AI and automation use cases, apply build-versus-buy decisions, and move selected solutions into production.
Create responsible AI enablement through license governance, user education, adoption measures, controls, and ROI tracking.
Coach and coordinate internal and contractor resources, and help shape and build the future-state team.
Partner with senior business and functional leaders to align priorities, accelerate adoption, and deliver measurable value.
Evaluate technology vendors and platforms to secure appropriate capability, scalability, and cost.
Assess the current environment and define the future-state strategy, governance, and scalable operating model for data and AI.
Personally help turn high-value opportunities into production-ready solutions with measurable business impact.
