About The Position

Join Medavie in a newly created leadership role that will help shape the future of cybersecurity across our organization. Reporting to the Vice-President, Corporate Security / CISO, you'll lead the execution of enterprise cybersecurity priorities while partnering with leaders across multiple lines of business to strengthen and mature our cybersecurity program. As Director, Cybersecurity Operations, you'll lead and develop a growing cybersecurity function, guide strategic initiatives, and help protect sensitive information, technology assets, and essential services within a complex and evolving environment. As a senior leader within the cybersecurity function, you'll help drive priorities across Medavie's diverse business and technology environments while partnering with leaders to enable secure, resilient, and innovative business outcomes. We're looking for a collaborative leader who combines strong cybersecurity expertise with business acumen, sound judgment, and exceptional relationship-building skills. You'll be comfortable navigating complexity, influencing decisions, and helping teams solve challenges in a practical and thoughtful way.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, technology risk, or a related field, including 5+ years in leadership roles
  • Proven experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of an organization
  • Experience presenting to executives, Boards, clients, regulators, or other senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated success leading complex initiatives in matrixed environments
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity operations, security engineering, incident response, and cybersecurity governance
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards such as NIST and ISO
  • Strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities
  • English proficiency is required to perform the duties of the role, which include daily collaboration with teams and partners outside Québec who operate primarily in English
  • Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status

Nice To Haves

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, or similar certifications
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, government, Crown corporations, or other regulated industries
  • Experience supporting environments that manage sensitive information or essential services
  • Experience leading cybersecurity transformation or modernization initiatives
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and cybersecurity considerations related to AI
  • Bilingualism (ENG/FR) is considered an asset

  • Support compliance with regulatory, audit, privacy, and industry security requirements
  • Foster a culture of security awareness, collaboration, and continuous improvement
