About The Position

The Director of Cyber Security will lead Motion's Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring security threats are identified, triaged, and addressed swiftly. As the primary point of contact for security incidents and emergencies, this Director will coordinate and communicate timely, appropriate responses across affected teams, customers, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree and fifteen (15) or more years of related experience.
  • Typically requires seven (7) or more years diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization and people motivation skill.
  • Relevant certifications.
  • Experience with OT/IoT security.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and security tooling automation.
  • Experience with penetration testing programs.

Responsibilities

  • Leads 24/7 security operations, ensuring threats are monitored, detected, and triaged in a high-availability production environment.
  • Owns the end-to-end incident response program, including playbook automation and coordination of "Red vs. Blue" team exercises.
  • Leads security investigations in partnership with HR, Legal, and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversees proactive threat hunting and threat intelligence functions, translating findings into actionable risk reporting for leadership.
  • Manages oversight of managed security service providers alongside internal team resources, ensuring consistent quality and accountability.
  • Executes cyber recovery runbooks and response procedures in the event of an incident, aligned with business continuity objectives.
  • Defines and maintains security reference architecture across cloud, infrastructure, OT/IoT, and application environments.
  • Evaluates emerging technologies and threats, and lead tooling, automation, and orchestration initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce response times.
  • Oversees penetration testing and DevSecOps practices to identify and remediate vulnerabilities before they reach production.
  • Designs and engineers cyber recovery and disaster recovery infrastructure in partnership with Operations.
  • Drives coordination and consensus across teams to mitigate cyber risk issues and emerging threats, aligning security operations metrics and dashboards to Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
  • Develops, implements, and periodically reassesses policies and procedures for Cyber Defense operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
