Role Summary: The Alternative Asset Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end technology ecosystem that supports CPP Investments’ private asset classes, including Private Equity, Credit Investments, and Real Assets. We design, build, and operate the systems, data foundations, and integration capabilities that enable the full private investment lifecycle—from deal sourcing and evaluation to execution, portfolio and asset monitoring, valuations support, and performance reporting. Our mandate is to deliver resilient platforms, high-quality data, and scalable, modern architectures that enhance decision-making and drive operational efficiency across all private investment strategies. As a Director, Engineering & Analysis, you will help develop and lead the strategic direction and execution of technology and data initiatives within the organization. While ensuring strong collaboration and partnership with your business aligned product owner, you will lead a diverse and talented team of engineers and analysts and have the end-to-end accountability for the development and implementation of innovative technological solutions and data-driven strategies to drive business growth and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in technology, with demonstrated progression in leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to inclusively lead, develop, and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
  • Extensive experience in technology and data management roles, with a strong track record of delivering complex initiatives.
  • Experience developing applications using at least two of the following: Python, Core Java, Angular, JavaScript, SQL.
  • Demonstrated success managing technology and data projects from planning through to execution, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building and managing strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and industry organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Credit Investments Product Owner to shape the strategic technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business needs, capability maturity, and enterprise strategy.
  • Evolve and maintain the Credit Investments technology platform, ensuring adherence to T&D architecture principles and modern engineering practices.
  • Drive interoperability by advancing the adoption of enterprise data products, shared modelling frameworks, and standardized data interfaces across Credit Investments and partner teams.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing engineering team with strong technical depth across data engineering, analytics, cloud services, and application development.
  • Lead agile software delivery, providing technical oversight, architectural guidance, and accountability for solution quality and reliability.
  • Empower your team to design, build, and support technology solutions according to product roadmaps and defined business outcomes.
  • Champion engineering excellence, focusing on continuous improvement across Product Craftsmanship, Product Reliability, Product Experience, and Team Experience.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships with technology vendors, service providers, and industry organizations to remain informed about emerging technologies and trends.
  • Engage executive leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to understand requirements, gather feedback, and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across engineering practices, data capabilities, and operational processes.
  • Recruit and retain high-integrity, high-performance, partnership-focused technology and data professionals.
