About The Position

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Director, Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting in New York, New York to examine, analyze, and interpret financial records to prepare and review regulatory financial statements. Evaluate monthly P&L (profit‑and‑loss) exceptions and partner with the Firm’s Market Risk Department to identify modelling deficiencies, categorize losses, and present outcomes to senior management. Collaborate with technology teams to drive efficiency initiatives and handle large‑scale projects within the Finance organization with a focus on the Backtesting and BTI workstreams. Gather user stories and work closely with developers to ensure ongoing compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on complex P&L issues, providing guidance and technical insight as needed. Review outputs generated by global production teams and provide oversight by applying specialized knowledge.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Accounting, or a related field of study
  • Five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related occupation
  • Five (5) years of experience with financial Greeks including Delta, Vega, Gamma, and Theta
  • Five (5) years of experience with P&L attribution analysis including key market drivers and risk sensitivities
  • Five (5) years of experience with Value-at-Risk (VaR) methodologies including Historical Simulation, Monte Carlo Simulation, and Hypothetical PnL (Clean PnL) derivation
  • Five (5) years of experience with Banking vs. Trading Book classification requirements and boundary rules as stipulated under US regulation
  • Five (5) years of experience with Internal Models Approach (IMA) eligibility requirements under the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) framework
  • Five (5) years of experience with market risk regulatory capital requirements for banks and Financial Holding Companies (FHCs) and implications of backtesting performance on capital
  • Five (5) years of experience with swap dealer regulatory expectations related to market risk capital and backtesting processes
  • Five (5) years of experience with global regulators including FRB (Federal Reserve Board), FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation), OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency), SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission), PRA (Prudential Regulation Authority), JST (Joint Supervisory Teams), BaFin (Bundesanstalt für Finanzdienstleistungsaufsicht), and the regulatory divergences across their respective market risk frameworks
  • Five (5) years of experience with Fixed Income and Equity financial products including corporate bonds, distressed debt, total return swaps, FX options, and exotic equity derivatives
  • Five (5) years of experience with Agile technology frameworks
  • Five (5) years of experience with analytical and data‑processing tools including Excel VBA
  • Five (5) years of experience with collaborating with technology to design and implement solutions across Backtesting and Banking vs Trading Indicators
