About The Position

Citizens is seeking a Director-level Corporate & Investment Banking colleague in Houston to join our growing Energy business, focusing on the Upstream and Midstream sectors. The Director will work closely with our team of experienced bankers covering mid to large cap-sized private and public companies. Citizens offers a full range of Corporate and Investment Banking products and services that include corporate finance, capital markets, structured financings, global markets risk management, commodity hedging and treasury solutions among other services. This position will play a key role in helping manage existing client relationships, originating new business opportunities and interacting with other senior coverage bankers, portfolio management and multiple product partner groups within Citizens.

Requirements

  • 10+ years Corporate or Investment Banking experience, preferably in the Energy sector
  • Growth mindset with desire to learn and expand the business
  • Ability to function as part of a flat organization, manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of multiple teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to express ideas in an organized and articulate manner
  • Ability to follow-up independently and consistently in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis including: financial statement analysis, financial modeling and company or industry analysis
  • Self-starting team player who can think strategically and excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment
  • High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitude
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent reputation as a team player

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support Senior Bankers with idea generation, prospecting and business development efforts in order to continue growing our Energy practice
  • Leverage business network to build a portfolio of strong client relationships to continue growing Citizens’ footprint in the sector
  • Responsible for maximizing total product revenue and growth for clients within portfolio and increase quality of revenue based on opportunity.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of the Energy industry to drive dialogue and deliver tailored financial solutions to clients and prospects
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing marketing materials / pitchbooks for client meetings and coordinating with different product teams
  • Coordinate with Senior Bankers, Portfolio Management, Leveraged Finance, Capital Markets, and Risk Management on all approval and committee requests
  • Conduct company and industry research with a business origination focus
  • Analyze financial model output and client information to prioritize data and present conclusions for discussion purposes
  • Lead client planning and demonstrate proficiency with key products
  • Responsible for mentoring and developing junior team members
  • Other duties as assigned
