About The Position

The Director of Controls & SCADA Engineering leads the strategy, engineering, deployment, performance, and lifecycle management of plant control systems and SCADA across Clearway’s utility-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage portfolio. The role provides technical leadership throughout the asset lifecycle, from development, design, engineering, construction, and commissioning through operational readiness and ongoing fleet operations. The Director establishes engineering standards, control system architectures, and technology strategies to support safe, reliable, secure, and optimized generation assets that meet grid interconnection requirements, regulatory obligations, and commercial performance objectives. The Director leads, develops, and mentors controls and SCADA engineering professionals; establishes team structure, staffing plans, technical competencies, and resource allocation; and provides technical governance for EPC contractors, OEMs, system integrators, and external engineering consultants. The role partners across Development, Project Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Operations & Maintenance, Asset Management, NERC Compliance, IT, Cybersecurity, the Remote Monitoring Center, and third-party technology providers. A key objective is to standardize and modernize controls and SCADA across the operating fleet and new-build projects while improving availability, operational visibility, grid responsiveness, cybersecurity, and asset performance. The position is based in a flexible office model. Corporate new hires are prioritized near Clearway offices, and office-based employees work from offices Tuesday through Thursday. The role is eligible for an annual cash bonus subject to personal and company performance goals. No visa sponsorship or other employment authorization sponsorship is available now or in the future.
