Insmed is seeking a Director, Compensation to serve as a strategic partner and subject matter expert within our Total Rewards function. In this role, you will provide expert guidance on compensation strategy, program design, and execution — helping Insmed attract, retain, and reward the talent that drives our mission. You will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and senior leadership to ensure our compensation programs are competitive, equitable, well understood, compliant, and aligned with our business priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive compensation experience, including responsibility for designing and administering broad-based compensation programs and serving as a strategic advisor to business leaders and HR Business Partners.
  • Experience leading or supporting global compensation processes, including annual merit, bonus, promotion, and equity planning cycles.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex market and internal data into executive presentations with actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex compensation concepts to leaders, managers, and employees.
  • Administering broad-based compensation programs and serving as a strategic advisor to business leaders and HR Business Partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting global compensation programs across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.
  • Knowledge of global pay transparency regulations, pay equity analyses, and compensation governance.
  • Experience developing manager education, communication strategies, and training related to compensation philosophy, programs, and pay decisions.
  • Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing compensation professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR Business Partners and functional leaders, providing strategic guidance on compensation philosophy, market competitiveness, pay decisions, promotions, and organizational changes.
  • Analyze compensation trends, internal equity, and pay positioning to develop actionable recommendations that support informed decision-making by senior leadership.
  • Develop executive-ready analyses, dashboards, and presentations that deliver meaningful insights on compensation programs and workforce strategies.
  • Consult on job architecture, career progression frameworks, and organizational design to support a consistent and scalable talent structure.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of annual compensation cycles, including merit increases, bonus planning, and equity grant administration, in partnership with Finance and HR Operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including pay transparency, pay equity, and global compensation requirements; maintain compensation policies and governance standards in partnership with Legal and Finance.
  • Develop and deliver training and communications for managers and HR Business Partners on compensation philosophy, pay decisions, and program design to drive understanding and consistency.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance compensation processes through automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools, partnering with People Operations and IT to optimize planning systems and reporting.
