Director, Community Engagement

IRENFort Worth, TX

About The Position

IREN is a leading AI Cloud Service Provider, delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s vertically integrated platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and data centers in renewable-rich regions across the U.S. and Canada. This role sits at the intersection of operations, risk, reputation, and workforce strategy. It provides leadership, governance, and insight so local engagement efforts are aligned, measurable, and scaled consistently as the business expands. With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.

Requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in community engagement, external affairs, government relations, or social impact in complex operating environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise‑level risk, reputation, or stakeholder strategy across multiple regions.

  • Lead early-state community planning for new markets and sites, including stakeholder mapping, issue anticipation, and engagement sequencing.
  • Partner closely with People & Culture, Operations, Legal and Development to ensure community considerations are built into planning and decision‑making and not managed reactively.
  • Provide strategic leadership, direction, and support to Community Engagement Managers across regions (U.S., Canada, and Australia as applicable).
  • Enable local teams to build strong relationships with key community members.
  • Maintain consistent delivery of community grants, sponsorships, bursaries, events, and Indigenous relations across sites.

  • In partnership with People & Culture, collaborate on community-based workforce strategies, including partnerships with schools, colleges, universities, and training providers.
  • Align community engagement efforts with Talent and People teams to strengthen early‑career pipelines, local hiring outcomes, and long‑term workforce sustainability.
  • Ensure employer brand narratives at the community level are authentic, consistent, and aligned with the employee experience.
  • Serve as a senior representative of IREN at key community and industry forums, particularly in high‑impact or sensitive contexts.
