About The Position

At Bond, we design, build, and manage innovative solutions that help our clients deepen relationships with the people who matter most. As Director, Communications, Automotive Dealers, you will shape and lead the global communications strategy for one of our Automotive clients, driving impactful engagement across diverse markets and audiences. You will bring together strategic vision, content excellence, cross-functional collaboration, and commercial leadership to ensure communications deliver measurable outcomes, strengthen client partnerships, and enhance brand presence in the automotive landscape. The Director, Communications, Automotive Dealers is accountable for end-to-end communications success and growth, including the strategic communications roadmap, ongoing innovation in messaging and channels, campaign performance, financial stewardship, and trusted senior-level partnerships. You will serve as a strategic advisor, brand storyteller, and cross-market integrator, translating client objectives into actionable, high-impact communications strategies, and collaborating internally to bring the best of Bond to every touchpoint.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years in progressively senior communications roles within a project-driven, client-focused environment, ideally in the automotive industry, with demonstrated success in leading global, cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to design and lead global B2B communications strategies and campaigns that influence business outcomes, strengthen client relationships, and deliver measurable ROI.
  • Strong ability to interpret market trends, client business objectives, and competitive insights to shape communications strategies that drive revenue growth and portfolio profitability.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership, with the ability to influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Deep experience in multi-channel communications planning and management, including emerging platforms and innovative engagement methods.
  • Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performance teams across multiple regions and disciplines.
  • Skilled in building and sustaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders, clients, and partners globally.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation abilities, with the capability to inspire, persuade, and align diverse audiences.
  • Experience in managing budgets, optimizing resources, and overseeing communication governance, policies, and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Own and set the global communications vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, client needs, and market dynamics across North America, Europe, and the United Kingdom.
  • Act as an internal and external representative, representing the communications discipline in senior leadership forums and contributing to new business opportunities.
  • Influence communications planning within defined portfolio areas, partnering cross‑functionally to ensure alignment with broader program objectives.
  • Recommend and support the adoption of improved communications approaches, channels, and technologies to enhance audience engagement and deliver measurable impact.
  • Apply industry insights and market trends from the global automotive sector to inform strategies and strengthen client relationships.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to recommend improvements in communications that deliver measurable business results and long-term client value.
  • Management of communications budgets, resource allocation, and financial stewardship.
  • Support revenue growth efforts through expanded communications offerings and portfolio profitability.
  • Oversee communications initiatives from concept to delivery, ensuring alignment with KPIs, market-specific nuances, and global brand standards.
  • Lead planning and execution of communications initiatives, integrating portfolio scope, business goals, and audience insights.
  • Lead the full communications lifecycle, including measurement, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Shape communication policies, standards, and operational processes for efficiency and consistency across global markets.
  • Oversee creation and delivery of communication content across diverse mediums, such as emails, web content, letters, presentations, speeches, and video scripts, ensuring brand consistency and high quality.
  • Ensure all communication assets align with strategic objectives and resonate with target audiences.
  • Lead and coach a team of communications professionals and cross-regional contributors, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture.
  • Provide strategic guidance, mentorship, and professional development to ensure consistent delivery across all markets.
  • Drive collaboration across disciplines, breaking down silos to achieve unified messaging and execution.
  • Champion organizational values, demonstrating ownership, accountability, and conflict resolution skills.
