Director, Commercial Insights and Analytics

Olema OncologyBoston, MA
Hybrid

About The Position

Olema Oncology is seeking a Director, Commercial Insights and Analytics to build and lead an integrated insights capability supporting commercial strategy, launch readiness, and lifecycle planning. The role reports to the SVP, Commercial Strategy and Operations. The Director of Insights and Analytics will serve as a strategic thought partner to Commercial leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, bringing together primary market research, forecasting, and competitive intelligence, to address Olema’s most important business questions. This individual will develop a deep understanding of customers, patients, and competitors, and translate that understanding into clear implications and recommendations for the business. The role will be responsible for ensuring that Olema has the right insights at the right time to inform decisions ranging from product strategy and launch planning to customer engagement, market development, and investment prioritization. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a leader who is comfortable framing ambiguous business questions, designing research and analytical approaches, pressure-testing assumptions, and translating disparate information into executive-ready recommendations. This role will be based out of either our San Francisco or Boston offices and will require approximately 20% travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, PhD, or another relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of biopharmaceutical commercialization in oncology markets, including patient journeys, customer behavior, treatment dynamics, market access, and launch performance.
  • Deep expertise in analytical methodologies sufficient to frame business questions, interpret outputs, challenge assumptions, and partner effectively with technical and analytical colleagues.
  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility in biopharmaceutical market research, insights, forecasting, competitive intelligence, commercial strategy, management consulting, or related disciplines.
  • Forward-looking approach to insights generation, including the use of AI-enabled tools, automation, and other modern research methodologies to increase the speed, scale, and quality of market research and strategic insights.
  • Track record of successfully supporting late-stage assets, launch planning, and in-market brands.
  • Strong capability in patient-based commercial forecasting, scenario analysis, and market assessment.
  • Proven ability to integrate primary research, competitive intelligence, secondary analyses, epidemiology, and other evidence into a coherent strategic perspective.
  • Effective at presenting recommendations and influencing decisions with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams.
  • Successful management of agencies, consultants, and other external partners.
