About The Position

The Director of Commercial Data and Decision Intelligence is the enterprise leader responsible for building, institutionalizing, and scaling commercial data and analytics capabilities across a multi-property, asset-based hospitality portfolio. This role serves as the primary architect of how the organization defines, governs, analyzes, and leverages commercial data across pricing, revenue management, sales, marketing, product and experience offerings, and portfolio optimization. This position establishes shared standards, decision frameworks, solutions, operating models, and analytical talent needed to move the organization from fragmented, property level reporting to an enterprise-wide, insight driven, decision-ready commercial operating model. The Director of Commercial Data and Decision Intelligence partners closely with the Asset Management, Operations, Marketing, Financial Planning and Analysis, and IT departments to ensure commercial analytics directly support asset performance, portfolio growth, and long-term profitability. This role is accountable for defining the roadmap, translating needs into requirements, leading business testing and release readiness, and driving adoption to measurable commercial impact. This role partners with IT for delivery while retaining business ownership of outcomes, decision workflows, and value realization.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business, economics, analytics, statistics, computer science, or related field
  • Must have five (5)+ years of experience in analytics, data, market intelligence, or commercial strategy roles with progressive leadership responsibility
  • Must have demonstrated experience building enterprise-level analytics and reporting capabilities from the ground up
  • Must have experience working with modern data platforms and analytics ecosystems in complex, multi-unit or asset-based businesses
  • Must have demonstrated experience as a product owner or business solution lead partnering with IT to deliver analytics and decision solutions
  • Must have experience presenting analytical insights to executive leadership
  • Must have strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage complex, time-sensitive execution
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent time management and follow up skills
  • Must have outstanding written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills while being able to effectively distill and communicate actionable insights at various levels of the organization

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the enterprise owner of the commercial data foundation for a multi-property portfolio, defining how asset level and portfolio level performance is measured, analyzed, and acted upon
  • Define and lead the commercial data and analytics strategy aligned to revenue growth, margin expansion, asset yield, and portfolio optimization objectives
  • Establish standardized commercial KPIs (e.g., RevPALF, economic occupancy, mix, channel performance, ancillary revenue) and analytic frameworks used consistently across all properties, brands, regions, and market segments
  • Replace fragmented, manual, and property-specific reporting with a scalable, governed commercial intelligence model that supports both asset level execution and enterprise oversight
  • Design and oversee the delivery of tiered, decision-oriented reporting across property, regional, brand, and enterprise levels
  • Ensure reporting emphasizes insight, forward-looking risk and opportunity identification, and scenario-based decision support, not just historical performance
  • Own commercial reporting governance, including metric definitions, data standards, reporting cadence, version control, and controlled change management
  • Build and scale analytics capabilities supporting revenue management, pricing, demand forecasting, channel strategy, and portfolio trade off decisions
  • Support scenario planning and what if analysis for asset performance, market shifts, and portfolio strategy decisions
  • Sponsor and shape the responsible use of advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI-enabled insights in commercial decision making
  • Own the commercial decision solutions roadmap aligned to enterprise priorities and objectives
  • Define business requirements, user stories, and acceptable criteria for commercial analytics and decision tools delivered by IT and vendors
  • Lead UAT, release readiness, and go-live adoption, including training, playbooks, and operating cadence changes
  • Own commercial data definitions, business rules, and standards across all analytics and reporting
  • Partner with the IT and Data Engineering departments to ensure data quality, reconciliation, issue remediation, and disciplined data management across property systems and platforms
  • Ensure new acquisitions are onboarded with consistent KPIs, analytics, and reporting readiness
  • Build, lead, and develop the Commercial Data and Analytics function, establishing operating norms
  • Act as the primary data partner to the Asset Management, Operations, Marketing, Financial Planning and Analysis, and IT departments
  • Enterprise adoption of standardized commercial KPIs across all properties and regions
  • Reduction in manual, duplicative, and property-specific reporting processes
  • Improved speed, consistency, and confidence in commercial and asset level decision-making
  • Demonstrated revenue growth, margin improvement, or risk mitigation driven by analytics
  • All other duties as assigned
