About The Position

The Director, Cloud Operations - North America supports AIT's cloud logistics strategy and ensures efficient, secure, and scalable transportation of cloud components and rack support for data center customers. This role focuses on operational execution, customer support, and continuous improvement across global supply chains involving fully populated server racks, servers, switches, GPUs, and all related hardware. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing & Sales, Supply Chain, or related field (required)
  • 15+ years years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or cloud related operations (required)
  • 10+ years of experience supporting revenue growth and customer retention (required)
  • 10+ years of experience in relationship management experience with technology sector customers and multi/national focus, fast pace, high volume environment (required)
  • Action-bias: Turns planning and discussion into outcomes
  • Strong understanding of RFQs, multimodal logistics, and compliance
  • Strong planning, communication, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to make concise decisions

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of cloud logistics plans aligned to business objectives.
  • Contribute to account planning, customer relationship management, and operational forecasting.
  • Assist in designing solutions that enhance performance, security, and cost effectiveness for transporting cloud components.
  • Business Continuity Support includes but not limited to assisting in maintaining disaster recovery and continuity plans for cloud component logistics.
  • Oversee day to day logistics operations for cloud hardware movement, including resource deployment to data centers, handling, and compliance.
  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure adherence to best practices for transporting racks, servers, switches, GPUs, and related equipment.
  • Developing “bench strength” and next-level leaders.
  • Coaching and development of direct-report staff relative to leadership of their individual groups.
  • Conduct mid-year and annual reviews, consistent cadence of 1:1 discussions.
  • Analyze operational patterns and identify opportunities to reduce cost while maintaining service quality and security.
  • Understand thoroughly the Cloud Security Program (CSP) relative to all transportation services.
  • Ensure 100% adherence to the CSP through spot audits and station visits.
  • Partner with CT Services as needed to ensure proper handoff protocols are in place for 24/7 monitoring.
  • Use analytics to identify risks and recommend operational improvements.
  • Maintain relationships with cloud customers and internal product leaders (air, ground, ocean, warehousing).
  • Participate in vendor meetings (MBR’s/ QBR’s, sourcing activity) across ground and WG/VAD service providers.
  • Support contract evaluation and specialized service needs for cloud component transport.
  • Maintain and update SOPs to reflect operational best practices and lessons learned.
  • Ensure new/ updated documents are reposited into the Cloud Operations SharePoint and/ or DC Services SharePoint sites.
  • Support initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, optimize routing, and use eco-friendly materials.
  • Partner with AIT Sustainability leadership to implement all opportunities to support.
