Lead a mission-critical cloud transformation We’re looking for a Director, Cloud & Infrastructure Services to lead a large-scale transformation as we evolve from on-premise infrastructure to a modern, cloud-enabled environment. This is a high-visibility leadership role where you’ll shape enterprise infrastructure strategy, lead cloud migration at scale, and drive operational excellence while supporting critical services that our business and communities depend on. Requirements

  • 8+ years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or operations
  • Proven success leading enterprise transformation and cloud migration initiatives
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms, network architecture, and enterprise infrastructure
  • Experience driving change management and organizational transformation
  • Knowledge of ITSM practices, operational metrics, and service delivery models
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, and large-scale service environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross-functional partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT infrastructure and operations
  • Proven experience operating enterprise infrastructure in a high-availability and/or regulated environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading infrastructure modernization or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of ITSM disciplines and operational performance management.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, contracts, and service delivery outcomes.

  • Experience in utilities, energy, or other regulated environments
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps, automation, and FinOps practices
  • Familiarity with Microsoft and Cisco environments
  • Experience in utilities, energy, or critical infrastructure environments.

  • Demonstrated success driving operational automation and efficiency.
  • Relevant certifications (preferred): ITIL, PMP, cloud platform certifications, FinOps Certified Practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise cloud and infrastructure strategy, operations, and modernization efforts
  • Own and execute the cloud migration roadmap from planning through delivery and optimization
  • Ensure infrastructure services are secure, resilient, scalable, and cost-effective
  • Drive DevOps and automation practices, including infrastructure-as-code and operational efficiency
  • Establish and lead FinOps capabilities to improve cost transparency and optimization
  • Oversee core services including cloud platforms, networks, end-user computing, service desk, and observability
  • Partner with cybersecurity, applications, and business leaders to align technology with enterprise priorities
  • Support grid modernization initiatives by enabling reliable, scalable infrastructure
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing infrastructure and operations team
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for enterprise IT Infrastructure & Operations, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and resilience of all services.
  • Establish and evolve the I&O operating model, service ownership, and accountability with clearly defined SLAs, OLAs, and reliability targets.
  • Serve as a senior IT leader contributing to enterprise IT strategy, investment prioritization, and execution planning.
  • Partner with cybersecurity, application delivery, and business leaders to align and deliver infrastructure capabilities with corporate and IT strategy.
  • Own and execute the IaaS cloud migration roadmap, adapting plans as enterprise cloud architecture decisions are finalized.
  • Partner with Security and IT architecture resources to define and operationalize cloud foundations, including: Landing zones, account/subscription models, and environment segregation Network connectivity, identity integration, DNS, and key management Standard patterns for compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery
  • Define migration approaches (rehost, re-platform, refactor, retire), tooling, and runbooks to ensure safe, repeatable migrations.
  • Ensure cloud infrastructure services are fully operationalized with monitoring, patching, backup, lifecycle management, and support processes.
  • Partner with application and platform teams to establish DevOps enablement capabilities, including: Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) Environment standardization and automation
  • Implement FinOps practices to ensure cloud financial transparency and cost optimization: Tagging and cost allocation standards Showback/chargeback models Budgeting, forecasting, and cost guardrails Rightsizing and consumption optimization
  • Establish governance that balances speed, cost control, reliability, and compliance.
  • Identify, prioritize, and deliver I&O cost efficiency initiatives, including: Vendor and contract optimization Platform and tool rationalization License utilization improvements Legacy infrastructure reduction
  • Increase automation across IT Operations using orchestration, scripting, self-service portals, and workflow automation.
  • Drive measurable improvements in operational productivity, incident reduction, change success rate, and mean time to restore (MTTR).
  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Grid Modernization program leaders to ensure IT infrastructure supports modernization initiatives.
  • Deliver scalable, resilient network, compute, and data services to support increased telemetry, analytics, mobility, and operational use cases.
  • Coordinate with OT and Cybersecurity teams to ensure appropriate connectivity, segmentation, and access controls for systems supporting operational needs.
  • Work closely with Cyber and Physical Security leadership to identify, implement, and support dynamic and agile security technology solutions.
  • In collaboration with Cyber and Physical Security leadership, implement a capabilities-first technology stack that seeks to maximize risk reductive value and balance cost
  • As agreed to and as appropriate, operate Cyber Security and Physical Security technology to meet risk reduction and compliance outcomes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for security automation or new security technology and work with Cyber Security and Physical Security leadership to prioritize efforts and technology modernization.
  • Ensure that the Company’s management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.
  • Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.
  • Comply with and administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement when applicable.
  • Administers personnel functions, including recruiting, review and approval of job descriptions and salary classifications, and selection and placement of personnel.
  • Participates in hiring, termination, promoting, assignment and direction of staff.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state and federal laws, regulations and standards, company policies, practices and ethical obligations to investigate, evaluate and recommend appropriate resolution to employee complaints.
  • Promotes and participates in the professional development, personal growth and career planning of staff.
  • Motivate, recognize and reward, coach, counsel, train; provide feedback to employees during performance reviews.
  • Participates in Leadership Development programs.
  • Addresses disciplinary and/or performance issues, according to company policy, and communicates effectively with employees regarding corrective action.
  • Has input into the adjustment of grievances and administration of discipline.
  • Plans day-to-day operations, estimates personnel needs and schedules and assigns work.
  • Evaluate the structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group.
