About The Position

The Regional Director of Clinical Informatics provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for regional Clinical Informatics services, clinician engagement, technology adoption, workflow optimization, and clinical transformation initiatives across assigned markets and facilities. This role is accountable for ensuring technology solutions support patient safety, quality outcomes, clinician experience, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and organizational priorities. The Director serves as a trusted advisor to clinical, operational, and technology leadership while driving the effective adoption and optimization of clinical technologies throughout the organization. The Regional Director leads Clinical Informatics Managers and team members, oversees multiple concurrent initiatives, and develops strong partnerships with Regional Chief Information Officers (RCIOs), physician leaders, nursing leadership, operational executives, and enterprise Digital Technology teams to ensure alignment between clinical transformation initiatives and technology strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Clinical Informatics, Health Administration, or a related field required
9-10 years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare operations, or health information technology.
A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
8 years of Clinical informatics Experience required

3-5 years of Leadership experience managing teams, programs, or services required
Advanced understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare operations, and healthcare technology.
Strong knowledge of Clinical Informatics principles, governance models, and technology adoption methodologies.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence physician, nursing, operational, and executive leadership teams.
Proven ability to execute regional strategies supporting workflow standardization, testing, validation, and optimization.
Expertise in change management methodologies and technology adoption strategies.
Strong analytical skills to optimize operational performance and drive measurable clinical and business outcomes.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a complex healthcare environment.
Ability to identify and resolve complex organizational, workflow, and technology-related issues.
Highly skilled in fostering cross-functional collaboration across departments, facilities, and leadership teams.
Effective people management capabilities to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing informatics professionals.

Experience leading governance structures, optimization initiatives, and clinical transformation programs.
Demonstrated success executing clinician engagement programs including clinical rounding, office hours, stakeholder forums, and feedback initiatives.

Partners with physician, nursing, and operational leaders to establish priorities and governance decisions impacting clinical technology.
Oversees testing, validation, readiness, and workflow review activities supporting clinical application implementations and enhancements.
Supports optimization efforts focused on reducing clinician burden, improving usability, and increasing adoption of technology solutions.
Ensures governance decisions support patient safety, quality outcomes, and operational performance.
Oversees regional clinician engagement strategies supporting adoption and utilization of technology solutions.
Leads structured clinical rounding, office hours, stakeholder engagement programs, and feedback collection initiatives.
Monitors adoption, utilization, and optimization metrics and develops improvement plans when necessary.
Partners with physician, nursing, ancillary, and operational leaders to improve clinician experience and technology effectiveness.
Ensures frontline feedback is incorporated into governance, prioritization, optimization, and workflow decisions.
Supports regional readiness, communication, and change management activities for technology implementations and upgrades.
Leads initiatives focused on workflow standardization, process improvement, and technology optimization across the region.
Evaluates clinical workflows and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborates with operational and clinical leadership to redesign workflows supporting organizational goals.
Promotes adoption of best practices, evidence-based workflows, and standardized technology utilization.
Uses performance metrics, analytics, and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement efforts.
