About The Position

The Director Claims, National CAT Field Operations is a senior claims executive responsible for leading a large, geographically dispersed national catastrophe property claims organization. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for claim operations, driving performance in customer experience, claim quality, operational excellence, loss cost management, expense control, compliance, and talent development.

This may require travel within your local area or to one of our offices on a regular basis. During catastrophe events, this role requires the ability to travel to impacted areas to support customers and claims operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of progressive P&C claims leadership experience within Property, Casualty, Auto, or Liability. Property or Physical Damage experience strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading large, geographically dispersed teams.
• Proven success driving operational performance, process improvement, and organizational transformation.
• Experience managing financial results including loss cost and expense performance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.
• People Leadership & Talent Development: Track record of building, developing, and leading high‑performing large organizations; establishes clear decision rights, accountability, and operating cadence while developing future leaders and succession pipelines.
• Operational Expertise: Brings strong operational expertise, with a proven ability to optimize processes, drive execution against strategic priorities, and deliver consistent, high-quality results across complex business environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large geographically dispersed National Catastrophe Property Claims organization.
• Drive achievement of financial, operational, customer, and talent objectives.
• Maintain accountability for loss cost, claim expense management, claim quality, and compliance outcomes.
• Ensure consistent execution of claim policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor business performance and implement corrective actions to improve results.
• Develop and execute strategies that advance claim effectiveness, customer outcomes, and operational performance.
• Partner with Claims Delivery leaders to identify opportunities for process redesign, technology enablement, and advanced analytics solutions.
• Lead initiatives that modernize claim operations and support a digital-first claims experience.
• Apply industry insights, emerging trends, and best practices to strengthen organizational capabilities.
• Align operational strategies with long-term corporate objectives and business priorities.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts across claim workflows, operating models, and customer interactions.
• Design and implement operational improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and quality.
• Leverage data, predictive analytics, and performance trends to identify opportunities and address emerging challenges.
