About The Position

Third Horizon (TH) seeks a director to support the design and delivery of technical assistance, training, and coaching for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs). The role will help translate quality improvement and practice transformation strategies into practical tools, learning content, and individualized support for clinics. The position will support TH’s contract with the National Council for Mental Well-Being under the project, “Bringing Systems Transformation to Scale: CCBHC and Workforce Capacity Building (CCBHC-T).” The director will be part of a TH team responsible for developing on-demand, self-paced learning content, technical assistance resources, and individualized coaching for CCBHC clinics. The role requires experience in clinical quality improvement, practice transformation, and community behavioral health operations. The strongest candidates will bring sound judgment, strong project execution, and the ability to turn complex concepts into clear, useful guidance for clinics. This role will help CCBHCs strengthen care delivery and access. This is a full-time, or dedicated contractor position and will report to a Managing Director who serves as the project director for the “Bringing Systems Transformation to Scale: CCBHC and Workforce Capacity Building (CCBHC-T)” project. In addition to supporting the “Bringing Systems Transformation to Scale: CCBHC and Workforce Capacity Building (CCBHC-T)” project, the position will also work on other TH client engagements that are related to behavioral health.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, counseling, public health, management, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with clinical quality improvement and practice transformation
  • Familiarity with the CCBHC model and the operating environment for community behavioral health providers
  • Experience developing and delivering technical assistance, training, adult learning content, workshops, group-based training, or individualized coaching
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across organizations and roles

Nice To Haves

  • Experience contributing to grant- or contract-funded projects, including deliverables and reporting
  • Experience using data, feedback, or performance measures to support quality improvement and implementation
  • Direct experience working in a community behavioral health clinic or similar care setting
  • Experience supporting implementation or change management efforts in healthcare or human services settings
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, state behavioral health systems, or relevant policy environments
  • Strong facilitation skills, including the ability to engage clinical and operational audiences
  • Experience with instructional design and digital learning tools (e.g., LMS platforms, e-learning authoring tools)
  • Ability to synthesize insights across multiple sites or stakeholders and translate them into scalable solutions

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop on-demand, self-paced learning content for CCBHC clinics, including modules, toolkits, and resource materials
  • Create webinars, tools, briefs, slide decks, and other training materials for clinical and operational audiences
  • Translate complex clinical and operational issues into clear, actionable guidance for clinic leaders and teams
  • Ensure all content reflects best practices in community behavioral health and is tailored to real-world clinic environments
  • Provide individualized coaching and technical assistance to clinics on workflow redesign, community partnerships, and other strategies to improve timely access to care
  • Support clinic leaders and teams in implementing strategies to improve timely access, care delivery, and coordination
  • Facilitate group learning sessions, office hours, and peer learning opportunities for participating clinics
  • Build strong relationships with clinic staff and stakeholders to understand needs and tailor support accordingly
  • Apply quality improvement (QI) methodologies (e.g., PDSA cycles) to support clinic transformation efforts
  • Incorporate adult learning principles into training design and delivery across multiple formats
  • Use feedback, performance data, and field experience to inform training design and technical assistance strategies
  • Support the design and implementation of training and technical assistance strategies for the CCBHC-T project
  • Contribute to the design of learning collaboratives or cohort-based models that support shared learning and accountability
  • Contribute to project workplans, timelines, deliverables, and reporting in coordination with the project director
  • Collaborate closely with TH staff, the National Council, partner organizations, and subject matter experts
  • Manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, ensuring high-quality and timely execution of deliverables
  • Support documentation of project activities, lessons learned, and outcomes
  • Participate in client meetings, trainings, and project activities as representative of Third Horizon
