What does a Director of Category & Market insights do at Swire Coca-Cola? Lead development of best in class consumer and category thought leadership; specifically, aggregating, synthesizing and turning consumer and market data into strategies and initiatives to feed the organization's growth and equity. Directs all aspects of insights and analytical responsibilities to understand customers, consumer, business and demand drivers; lead the development and communication of these insights to ensure all customer and company profit and growth goals are met.

Requirements

  • 10+ years work experience in Category/Space Management, with strong preference to experience in beverage or fast-moving consumer goods industry required
  • 8+ years of knowledge and work experience in CPG (Consumer Product Goods) Industry required
  • 4+ years experience in leadership roles (combination of direct and influential leadership) required
  • 4+ years Experience with data mining and query tools (IRI, Nielsen, Shelf IQ, Placer A.I., Blue Yonder, JDA, etc. required
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting or finance preferred
  • 4+ years Experience with visualization software (i.e. Tableau, Power BI) preferred
  • Organizational Development, Change Management, and Executive Decision Making
  • Space Optimization and Productivity
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced excel and analytic/reporting suite tools
  • Leadership of sales and business processes, planning
  • Data standards, space management, category management
  • MMUXT, SAP, CONA,
  • Vendor / Supplier Management

Responsibilities

  • Direct an analytical team responsible for developing, executing, and implementing in-house qualitative and quantitative research, integrating multiple data sources, secondary data sources, trend information and data analytics; lead the building and managing of insights to maximize organizational value and to influence and develop short term & long-term strategy.
  • Leverage story-telling skills to address key business questions by implementing qualitative and quantitative research approaches to drive actionable insights and consumer implications.
  • Direct and lead the space management team for key customers that best utilizes what is selling in a chain or market to improve space efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure the objective voice of the consumer is heard across the organization; responsible for delivering objective consumer information and recommendations to influence strategy and to make better business decisions. We want to be our customers first call when they have questions about the category performance.
  • Direct and lead a team of category managers to steward relevant market/customer insights, collaborative business planning process, and develop customer scorecards and business reviews.
  • Collaborate with counterparts in PRGM, Finance, Sales, Demand Planning, and Commercial & Marketing to establish goals and directives while ensuring Swire’s needs from a customer, consumer brand, category and package are met. Influence cross functional department key stakeholders to improve business process and procedures and execute internal CCNA and/or Swire initiatives.
  • Use technology to enhance current reporting and incorporate system best practices, while calling out key insights and actions needed to improve the results.
  • Traditional Category Management…Turning Data into Story Telling to help Sales Team sell in company objectives, while remaining objective to the category and producing suggestions that not only benefit Swire, but also the category for our customers
  • Strong understanding of CPG industry to include Category Vision / Roadmap, Assortment Optimization, Pricing / Promotional Strategy, and Product Life Cycle Management
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
