About the opportunity Parts & Accessories (P&A) is one of the most strategic and largest categories within eBay. The US represents eBay’s largest P&A market globally and is a critical driver of long-term growth. The Director, Category Management, US P&A will report to and partner closely with the GM, US Parts & Accessories, to deliver the category strategy and execution plan for eBay’s P&A business in the US. This individual will lead the category management team, owning some of the most critical initiatives in the US business through solid-line, dotted-line, and matrix leadership. As a senior leader, this role demands a dual mindset: that of a strategic leader—who deeply understands the dynamics of two-sided marketplaces, can break down complex problems into clear frameworks, operate effectively in ambiguity, and demonstrates strong data intuition—as well as that of an operator who can move quickly and decisively, and is not afraid to get their hands dirty.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience; 4+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm, investment bank, or in a strategy & planning role at a major corporation preferred
  • Experienced people leader with a track record of building and developing teams
  • Proven strategist with a demonstrated ability to deliver results at scale
  • Strong ability to lead through influence in a matrix organization
  • Currently operating at Director level with significant experience in commercial roles
  • Personal passion for eBay and the automotive industry

Responsibilities

  • Drive GMV/GMB growth and inventory health for the US P&A business
  • Partner with the P&A leadership team to define the 1–3 year category strategy, and identify and execute against key opportunities
  • Deliver the most comprehensive catalog of P&A inventory (“every part for every vehicle”)
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams (Product & Technology, Finance, Account Management) to deliver an outstanding end-to-end customer experience
  • Attract and retain buyers and sellers, with a particular emphasis on the sell-side of the marketplace
  • Lead seller strategy across enterprise sellers, distributors, manufacturers, and SMBs
  • Build deep relationships with eBay’s top P&A sellers; partner with a subset to drive transformative growth for their businesses on eBay
  • Improve customer satisfaction by addressing inventory gaps, sourcing supply, and enhancing quality and trust in P&A
  • Build and develop a high-performing team, with a focus on enabling strong partnerships with large P&A sellers to drive market-leading growth
  • Act as a servant leader and role model, demonstrating leadership aligned with eBay’s culture and values
  • Partner closely with eBay’s US General Manager and leadership team to integrate the P&A strategy into the overall US market approach
