About The Position

HF Sicnlair is seeking a Director, Capital Projects in Dallas, TX who will be responsible to Ensure accurate and successful project identification, Front-End Loading, and Execution of Capital Projects across HF Sinclair Mid Continent Region (El Dorado, Kansas; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Artesia New Mexico).Job Duties Ensure utilization of and training on HF Sinclair’s Front-End Loading process on all capital projects to achieve predictable results (safety, cost, schedule and quality) Provide detailed gate reviews of all projects over $1 million Provide preliminary screening and analysis (Monte Carlo, PDRI, etc) for projects >$10MM Ensure use of KPIs to track and steward site performance and drive continuous improvement  Ensure readiness for all corporate review meetings Support / coordinate with the sites as they develop their capital budgets. Provide oversight / assurance in managing to the budget  Complete post audits on all projects including lessons learned Be primary Corporate point of contact for site Capital Projects group Assess site capabilities (talent, culture and systems) in achieving capital project performance excellence Evaluate and recommend when to utilize 3rd party support to assist with site capital project activities and assessments  Steward a culture of safety Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion. ExperienceA minimum of 10 years of progressive work experience in a related engineering discipline and managing capital projects in a refinery or similar industry setting is required.  Education LevelA minimum of a BS in mechanical engineering is preferred or other engineering degrees or a combination of relevant experience and education.Required Skills Project management experience with projects between $1MM and $50MM  Proficient in Front End Loading, Detail Design, and Construction practices  Proficient with construction contract strategies Proficient with project controls including cost control and scheduling practices Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal Supervisory/Managerial ResponsibilityCurrently not a supervisor role, but could change in the future. Work ConditionsOffice and field based with up to 03% travel by land and air required. Petroleum pipeline and facilities, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment. Subject to all temperatures including outdoor weather conditions. Requirements
