About The Position

Basic FunctionHF Sinclair is seeking a Director Capital Projects based in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will oversee multiple aspects and activities of the Project Management Organization. Including scope development, estimating, engineering, management & execution of capital projects. Job Duties Manages the overall project portfolio for Holly Energy Partners Accountable for completion of projects within approved budget and target schedule Accountable for development and recommendations for subsequent year budgets Ensures plans, specifications, schedules, budgets, and contractual commitments are met Directs the engineering (Civil, I&E, drafting, mechanical, etc…) and project management & execution activities for our pipeline and facilities Ensures compliance with our Project Management Organizations policies, standards, and procedures and reviews and updates accordingly Ensures compliance with company specific policies, standards, and procedures (e.g. MOC, Incident Investigations, etc…) Provides project engineering support and directs engineering studies associated with Business Development scoping activities, large scale projects, and/or improvement opportunities Ensures RFQ, bid tabulation, and contract development for all pipeline and facilities projects adhere to our Corporate Procurement Processes Ensures compliance with current and future standards, regulations, laws and directives for the safe operation of the pipelines & facilities Ensures projects are designed and constructed per our Engineering Standards Ensures coordination of all activities requiring interaction of the Project Engineering Group, Project Management Group, Project Controls, and third party service providers Accountable for the creation and maintenance of records for all project scope and engineering work performed by the group and construction and maintenance records associated with PMO governed projects Provides Engineering support through staff engineers to all functional groups within Holly Energy Partners Ensure coordination with Operations, other key stakeholders, and PMO is adequate to allow for proper project scope development Represents the company and establishes strong professional relationships with key decision makers and counterparts as part of the broader HF Sinclair work environment and industry professionals Is a Pipeline Excellence Element Owner and/or Facilitator and encourages PMO team members to actively participate in the Pipeline Excellence Program Participate in and may direct continued adoption and development of the Equity Standards Provides monthly KPI reporting for management review Provides recommendations to management concerning costs and schedules Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years of on-the-job experience is required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a technical or Engineering related field, is required. Significant experience in Project and Construction Management & Execution will be considered.
  • Advanced ability to lead and direct the work of other associates.
  • Advanced spreadsheet, CAD, database and word processing applications knowledge
  • Strong interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop quality controls and read and assess statistical and operational reports.
  • Advanced reading and writing skills, ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.

Nice To Haves

  • A Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, and/or Technical Discipline.
