Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years in comprehensive project management experience on a variety of complex project assignments varying in complexity, scale, and cost, specifically in municipal public works or similar environments.
  • Valid driver’s license & Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong understanding of municipal engineering principles, project management practices, and relevant software (Microsoft Office, CAD, GIS).

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years of experience in municipal public works management or project management in a government setting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Review bids and recommend awards, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and communicate updates to all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project activities, mitigate risks, and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and forecasting needs.
  • Utilize best practices in project management for consistent successful outcomes.
