About The Position

Oversees and implements the cancer center's programmatic components, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements. Serves as an administrative, clinical resource in support of the Manager – Cancer Center Nursing, in physician practice clinical operations and the collaboration of care among internal and external WMG practices and the Cancer Center's hospital-based clinical departments. Manages the oncology services program support staff. Implements professional and public education programs and collaborates with community agencies as appropriate to promote cancer screening and outreach.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • 3 years Experience in nursing, health administration, or business.
  • Oncology experience.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Upon Hire Preferred or Registered Nurse Multi State License Upon Hire Preferred
  • If licensed health care professional, license should be current in Pennsylvania with no restrictions attached to it. Upon Hire Required
  • Oncology Certified Nurse Upon Hire Preferred
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the development, coordination and administrative support of strategic and operational plans related to oncology services at the entity level.
  • Oversees all programmatic components, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares annual capital and operating budgets.
  • Monitors expenditures and works with managers to ensure efficiencies within the departments of the cancer center.
  • Maintains close collaboration with all departments and clinical areas to ensure streamlined operations of patient care activities and quality of care.
  • Oversees oncology support services; develops and implements professional and public education programs; and collaborates with community agencies as appropriate to promote cancer screening and outreach.
  • Works collaboratively with patients, employees, physicians, and organization leadership to resolve problems and issues.
  • Fosters positive working relationships.
  • Manages, facilitates and develops processes that focus on employee and patient satisfaction.
  • Monitors program activities and physician participation, recording and reporting statistical data, including financial data to determine levels of participation and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensures the efficient, economic and quality performance of the assigned service line and/or departments/areas of responsibility to support or provide quality health care services.
  • Assists in and collaborates with marketing to develop and implement marketing plans.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts including equipment, service, and maintenance.
  • Respects the matrixed nature of the organization, building relationships and communication methods that ensures that entity and cancer center teams have a clear understanding of the reporting structure to both the Oncology Service Line Senior Directors-WSH System, while working closely with hospital leadership.
  • Serves as oncology expert on department and hospital committees and projects.
  • Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operations which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entity's services.
  • Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity, with other departments/service lines/entities, and with the System's primary functions.
  • Continuously assesses and identifies areas for possible performance improvement within the department/service line/entity.
  • Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs.
  • Reviews and recommends staffing levels, selects and assigns staff, evaluates performance, evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable), provides orientation, training and continuing education of staff, and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Ensures required licensures and certifications are current.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.
