About The Position

The Director of Program and Change Management is a highly visible senior leadership role within T. Rowe Price’s Individual Investor business, which serves over 1 million clients with more than $200B in assets, supporting individual retirement and general investing needs. In this position, you’ll work closely with executives across the organization to shape and activate business strategy through transformative program initiatives and thought leadership. Leading a team of skilled program and project managers, you will oversee a portfolio of strategic initiatives directly tied to business objectives and commercial outcomes. As a recognized thought leader in the wealth management industry, you’ll drive resource management, strategy execution, and organizational change, ensuring alignment with long-term business goals and delivering measurable value across multiple departments. This highly visible senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and activating strategic priorities within the Individual Investing distribution unit at T. Rowe Price. As a trusted thought leader and subject matter expert in the financial and wealth management industry, the incumbent partners closely with all levels of leadership—including the executive team—to drive transformative business outcomes. The position oversees a versatile team of business strategists, program managers, and project managers, ensuring effective end-to-end delivery of a complex portfolio of high-impact programs. With exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, the leader excels at presenting to executives, championing new solutions, and navigating organizational change. The role provides strategic guidance and operational direction to management teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and the delivery of measurable value within committed timeframes and budgets. This leader also plays a pivotal role in enhancing the firm’s execution capabilities through the development and implementation of best practices for program and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
  • 12+ years of total relevant work experience and 5+ years of management experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of business strategy development for the Individual Investing distribution unit, from initial discovery and business case creation through program activation and post-implementation impact reviews, ensuring strategies are market-relevant and deliver measurable business value.
  • Serve as a visible leader and subject matter expert in financial services and wealth management, leveraging deep industry knowledge and market insights to shape initiatives, identify opportunities, and ensure competitive value propositions for individual investors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and peers across the firm, acting as a liaison to align cross-functional teams, facilitate decision-making, and ensure transparency and accountability in program execution.
  • Oversee and direct multiple teams of program and project managers, recruiting and developing talent to foster a high-performing, strategically focused workforce that supports both current and future business needs.
  • Allocate and manage resources for complex, multi-departmental programs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness using comprehensive market data and financial analysis, proactively recommending course corrections, and reporting outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Develop and implement best practices, frameworks, and tools for strategic program management, ensuring all initiatives adhere to established methodologies and deliver consistent value.
