About The Position

The Director, Business Operations is a key leadership role responsible for driving operational efficiency, strategic alignment, and financial governance. This leader will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of Global Quality’s initiatives and its integration with broader organizational goals. This leader will oversee the integration of GPS strategic imperatives, financial governance, and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring cross-functional collaboration and alignment with key stakeholders such as Finance. Additionally, the role is accountable for developing and implementing portfolio resource management strategies, driving financial accountability, and fostering a culture of quality, agility, and operational excellence across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Science, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in strategy execution, business operations, portfolio governance, and financial planning, preferably in biopharmaceutical or life sciences industries.
  • Visionary leader with strong business acumen, a focus on continuous improvement, and the ability to lead through data-driven insights
  • Expertise in governance and strategic execution, leveraging digital technology within a global matrix organization.
  • Strong experience in financial management, budget governance, and resource allocation.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale transformation initiatives, financial stewardship, and enterprise governance.

Nice To Haves

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or Portfolio Management (PfMP) certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison with Finance at GQ level (150+m budget oversight), driving effective budget allocation, forecasting and tracking spend
  • Enable an integrated strategy execution roadmap, driving transparency, prioritization, and business impact.
  • Maintain/ Enhance governance structures to monitor strategic initiatives, business operations, and financial performance.
  • Leverage resource allocation and financial planning frameworks to support leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure timely reporting, benefits realization, and cross-functional coordination of key initiatives.
  • Drive financial planning, budget governance, and resource management strategies to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Lead GQ-wide financial tracking and forecasting, ensuring alignment with GPS Finance and Procurement.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiencies, optimize resources, and improve cost-effectiveness and mitigate risks.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Finance and Change Management to drive integrated execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Establish and lead continuous improvement initiatives, embedding best practices across Global Quality.
  • Develop and implement operating models, governance frameworks, and KPI tracking systems to measure and enhance performance.
  • Drive change management strategies to support business transformation, process optimization, and financial governance.
