Director, Business HR
About The Position
Abbott's Diabetes Care business is seeking a Director, Business Human Resources to serve as the primary strategic partner to the business, developing HR strategies, needs assessments, and the resulting HR solutions. This role involves serving as the strategic HR partner to the Business, leveraging HR consulting skills to help clients achieve key business objectives and increase organizational effectiveness. The position balances short-term needs with long-term strategies, aligning HR initiatives with business strategies and operational plans. It also involves developing and implementing a talent plan in partnership with leadership to ensure the right talent is in place for financial commitments, consistent team performance, and a sustainable talent bench. The role requires bringing thought leadership to change management initiatives and is responsible for the quality and responsiveness of HR service delivery for the client group. Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key HR partners is crucial for coordinating HR elements to meet business needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive HR business partner or related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build consultative, collaborative relationships with managers and co-workers at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and assess human capital needs and work collaboratively to develop and implement value-added solutions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Excellent analysis and decision-making skills
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and regulations governing HR programs

Responsibilities
- Serves as the strategic HR partner to the Business.
- Leverages HR consulting skills to help their business clients achieve key business objectives and increase the effectiveness of their organization.
- Balances short term needs / tactics with long term strategies; calibrates needs of the functional area with the broader global business.
- Aligns human resources initiatives and resources to deliver against business strategies and operational plans.
- In partnership with the divisional vice president and leadership team, develops and implements a talent plan that ensures the organization has the right talent to deliver on financial commitments, consistent team performance and a sustainable talent bench.
- Brings thought leadership and experience to change management initiatives in the business.
- Responsible for the quality and responsiveness of the overall delivery of all HR services for the respective client group.
- Establishes, builds and maintains strong relationships with key HR partners from Area BHR, Practice Areas and Service Centers to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet and exceed business needs.
