About The Position

The Director of Business Development is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all developmental activities across assigned Food Distribution Operating Companies. This role is focused on new account acquisition and driving targeted revenue growth through strategic partnerships and business development initiatives. The position is not location-specific and requires flexibility to travel as needed.

Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required, focus in Business preferred. Significant related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Food Service industry, primarily in the Food Distribution Channel preferred.
Strong exposure to food supply chain and procurement services is essential.
Ability to travel to prospective strategic alliances as needed.
Strong understanding of Group Purchasing Industry operations (financial, technical, etc.).
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong customer relationship skills for both internal and external clients.
Ability to work collaboratively toward mutually established solutions and goals.

Responsibilities

Manage staff and oversee specific assigned duties of management and sales.
Review performance statements, sales activity reports, and compliance reports to identify areas for improvement.
Monitor strategic business relationships with key partners to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Drive business development of new CSM Members and Distribution Alignments.
Collaborate with CSM’s President on business development activities.
Plan and direct business development opportunities across the enterprise.
Ensure timely follow-up on all business development activities.
Focus on acquiring new accounts and achieving targeted revenue growth.
