About The Position

This role will provide leadership to develop technology strategies that support business goals. The Director will have impact and influence over more than one technology and/or business domain, advancing a next generation of automation, intelligence and AI-ready operations built on a strong data practice across AbbVie's Corporate Functions: Legal, the Office of Ethics and Compliance, and Corporate Affairs. The Director will build a collaborative partnership with technology and functional domain senior leadership, acting as a business-facing, techno-functional and consultative advisor. They will develop and guide the delivery of comprehensive technology solutions that address prioritized business problems and innovation needs, maturing data, measurement and automation capabilities that make operations AI-ready. Objectives are defined in collaboration with senior domain leadership and results are assessed from a 2-3 year perspective.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and 12+ years of experience.
Effectively connect employee and BTS functional goals to business and/or overall AbbVie goals.
Proven ability to drive outstanding employee performance and engagement through developing, coaching, motivating, energizing, and inspiring team members.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technology into clear business value for senior, non-technical stakeholders.
Experience managing teams of at least 15 people with a resource mix of managers, employees, matrixed teams, virtual teams, contractors, and managed service providers.
Ability to communicate problems in terms that are understandable to all levels of the organization, including C-Suite.
Thought leader within multiple technology and/or business domains, with a techno-functional and consultative approach to solving business problems.
Experience managing a budget of at least $15 million.

Nice To Haves

Master's Degree and work experience in the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Experience in technology operation, strategy, planning and implementation and/or relevant business domain preferred, including data strategy and enablement, analytics and measurement, intelligent automation and AI-enabled operations, digital product and web platform management, and enterprise operations and workflow systems.
