About The Position

The Brand Strategy & Operations leader for the MedTech business will be a leader in Johnson & Johnson’s transition to a master brand strategy – leading BUs to manage transition to the J&J brand, and to build our company’s brand positioning as a leader in surgery, cardiovascular, and vision. This role will help design, build, and manage business brand strategy and brand operations capability in MedTech with a focus on: brand value proposition, content strategy, brand experience and events, nomenclature strategy and execution, and creating sector level brand strategy that supports J&J leadership in MedTech. This includes leading the strategy on brand architecture and brand identity for J&J MedTech as well as the naming and architecture strategy planning and prioritizing brand governance and implementation tools to support a Masterbrand strategy. As a J&J brand leader, this individual will work closely with the enterprise Brand Operations team and support and influence the brand governance approach to support the needs of the sector. In addition, the role partners closely with our corporate functions, in legal, finance, regulatory, and external design and strategy teams to ensure that all governance models and resources, owned and developed by this team, are of the highest level of standards and usability across the sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and implementation of MedTech value proposition and messaging
  • Lead the brand architecture and visual system approach for MedTech and its application
  • Design/develop standards to ensure governance adherence MedTech
  • Lead naming, identity, and design solution sessions with marketing teams and other internal stakeholders to address brand operations challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across all marketing materials, including digital, print, and social media, during and after the transition period
  • Lead the brand implementation strategy
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of MedTech brand transition and brand equity efforts
  • Analyze market trends and brand insights to identify opportunities for brand growth to support the Masterbrand ambition.
  • Translate Brand Expression for key partnerships and activations, including asset and guideline creation, management, and governance
  • Manage the relationship between tax, legal, and regulatory stakeholders into our process for centralizing brand approval requests
  • Work in partnership with our corporate and sector brand operations team to align governance approach and brand expression across the sector and corporate.
  • Identify, prioritize, implement, and maintain all tools, resources, and internal comms channels to drive ongoing organizational awareness, engagement, and understanding of the J&J brand, including through the J&J Brand Center
  • Drive operational rigor for defining new and maintaining existing governance processes, possibly including creative/legal reviews and approvals, asset management, etc.
  • Serve as a liaison for internal/external design partners, sector brand leads, and corporate functions leaders, by maintaining a brand council and driving visibility and alignment across the company
  • Lead and develop talent on our Brand team and partner with franchise teams
  • Lead the development of foundational content assets for MedTech – including messaging, and other creative expressions of the brand
  • Lead branded content creation for high profile MedTech activation moments and events
  • Partner with Corporate Brand Equity and BU brand teams to ensure our MedTech business are represented in J&J Brand campaigns and content
